Summary
His face, his smile, it's burned into my mind; like he branded me before abandoning me as if I was a cow, some kind of livestock. As if I was a hunk of meat you just eat then leave when you're too full to have another bite.

Summary
I lift my hands, reaching out to the stars as if I could physically grasp onto them. "Isn't it beautiful?" I ask rhetorically, a softness to my voice. The stars shine and light up the night sky. Its soft glow reaching us from millions of miles away. The constellations and their companions twinkling down on us.
"It is," he responds, warmth in his tone. A tenderness that causes butterflies to awaken in my stomach. His agreement gets a soft smile to make its way to my face. I bring my hands back down, letting them land on my stomach. I take a calming deep breath.
"I've always liked the stars." I turn my head to look at Phil again, catching him already looking at me. "What about you?" I ask while my cheeks start to heat up. He moves his head back to gaze up at the sky. In the moonlight, I can see a light dusting of blush on his cheekbones.
"I'm not sure," he starts, celeste-colored eyes focused on the constellations, "I guess I've always liked them." He takes a breath. "But I don't think I've ever noticed how truly beautiful they are until now."
