Connor changes with every death, always trying to improve- to become perfect. But it's too little too late, mistakes piling up. He reaches for the stars, but they burn out too fast, dying before he can touch their bright blue light. So he becomes one himself.
In other words: Deviation for Connor is the death of a small star, long, slow and torturesome. He burns and burns, before he slowly dies out, light extinguished.

Summary
When Rawlins arrived that morning, Connor felt the first pang of unease.
The man was large, broad-shouldered, with the kind of weathered face that looked carved from stone. Deep-set eyes, a nose that had been broken at least twice, and the permanent shadow of stubble along his jaw. He wore his coat like armour, unbuttoned, revealing a holster strapped openly at his hip.
He didn’t offer his hand. Didn’t greet Connor with so much as a nod. Instead, his eyes flicked once to Connor’s LED, and his mouth twisted. “So this is the machine I’ve heard about.”
“Hello, my name is Connor,” Connor supplied. “I’ll be your partner until Lieutenant Anderson is cleared to return.”
Rawlins grunted, brushing past him. “We’ll see.”
Or, after Hank is placed on medical leave, Connor is reassigned to a new partner from a different precinct. Unfortunately, his new partner is more interested in using Connor as a tool than treating him like a living being.

Summary
Recently-turned-deviant Connor is learning to adjust to his new life and the new world ever since the android revolution and accepting his role as co-advocate for equal rights for androids. Without the threat of CyberLife and Amanda bearing down on his shoulders, he is now free to be his own person and make his own decisions, but becoming human isn't as easy as he thought it would be. Every deviant he investigated before his own deviancy now lived their own, free lives and were thriving. They had friends, worked like their human co-inhabitors, and some even created their own families.
Connor has Hank and Sumo, but as he watches the world around him, he wonders if there's more to his deviancy other than playing the guinea pig for Kamski's experiments and roommate for Hank. When Hank encourages Connor to broaden his horizons and meet new people, Hank's neighbor returns home with her three children to find that Detroit and its residents have truly made some revolutionary changes... -

He’s been drowning in this hollow, unrelenting suffocation for twenty-six fucking hours. And now here Connor is, standing on his doorstep like nothing happened, like he didn’t just fucking disappear, like Hank hasn’t been absolutely tearing himself apart wondering if he’s dead, destroyed or just some soulless fucking husk, rebooted for the next mission, for the next bastard who has to deal with him.
