Summary
Vash had gotten on his nerves - again. Except this time it ended in a show of guns aimed at heads and a finger hovering, quivering, upon the trigger - well, more so on Nicholas’s end.
Vash just stood there, like a coward, meeting his eyes in an indifferent gaze, refusing to do naught - much less draw his colt. The fate of his life lying in Wolfwood’s trust. The dignity of himself thrown to the wind. And Nicholas hated how passive he remained.
“You know me better,” Vash says, and Nicholas feels a pang in his chest, “I couldn’t ever.”
Nicholas steels his resolves and bites back, “One of these days, it’ll be me who kills you.”
And to his dismay. The sunlit boy mutters a simple response.
”And I will be glad it is so.”

Summary
Vash doesn't know nor understand the feeling of unconditional, unadulterated love. What he knows, though, is the despair and thousands of regrets he brings with every footfall against the hot desert sand. Nothing can erase the monumental, and disastrous bite he brings. This time, he pays the price by lowering Wolfwood's bloodied and battered body into a makeshift grave. Unsure of what to do with his hands afterwards.
Meryl has always been a grounding point. A small woman who packs so much love and forgiveness in one measly human. And with that she tries an attempt at pulling Vash out of his own personal hell.

Kissing Vash always feels like he’s kneeling and worshipping, praying into his mouth, accepting every little noise he makes, every part of him that he places into Wolfwood’s hands. He selfishly wants every piece he can take, wants to cradle his entirety in his rough palms, wants to pretend like he’s even worthy of holding this wondrous creature so close.

DEAR LORD THIS GOT ME GRIPPING MY FLOORBOARDS i am such a huge sucker for chiper i am a melting mess i am barking up the walls. the pacing is absolutely delciious and the way the author described scenes was such a joy to read. i love the descriptions with viper's tech and the way her frustrations/stress with om!viper was so neatly packaged in a way that was captivating and easy to digest at the same time. need i start on how romantic chamber was..... it's a rare occurence to read about decently well-written "falling in love" scenarios since most writers love to rush into the good part but the way the author paced it got me giggling and blushing and wanting to read more (i too, would like a chamber in my life to buy me chocolates and cook me dinner and have the eye to catch for nondescript tells for when i'm exhausted and need a break and be such a hopeless romantic without expecting anything in return who would use the gentlest of touch on me).
spent about 3 hours reading this and kept getting distracted because i kept needing to go back to the sentences to go over them again and again because i was so fixated on what chamber was doing but i digress-
10/10 for the writing and plot, this got me on my toes, will definitely be keeping an eye out for more chapters <3
