Albus Dumbledore meets the Flamel Heir during their funeral in 1993, he spontaneously asks the man to consider taking up a position within Hogwarts as the Alchemy Teacher.
A week later he receives an Owl confirming that Edward Elric-Flamel will become the Alchemy Professor at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in 1995 after he completes his certificates. Unknowing of Edward's own ulterior motives.
