“Oh," Ron said, slowly looking quite pleased. "I suppose I did…”

There were at least two things Ron could say for certain that he'd never have expected when he first stepped onto the Hogwarts Express- the first being meeting Harry Potter, and the second being, horrifically, being sorted into SLYTHERIN. Ron is begging for someone to fire the Sorting Hat, right now.
Except Ron doesn't do as poorly as he'd suspected he would in this house of his. He is by no means the picture of a Slytherin dark-magic-dabbling blood supremacist, but that doesn't mean he fails to find friends in Slytherin, not at all. Not only is he mates with the Boy-Who-Lived, but his friend group also comprises of the first muggleborn in Slytherin since about half a century, and Blaise Zabini, son of the infamous Contessa Zabini and equally as suave as her.
Little did Ron know, though, that he was in for one hell of a first year at Hogwarts, whether he was Slytherin or not.

Summary
At the end of his third year, Harry receives a letter from the Dursleys, stating that he has been disowned. In a spectacular display of not giving one fuck, Dumbledore sends him back to their home anyway, despite either Harry's or the Dursleys' wishes. This decision goes decidedly not too well for anyone involved.
It is through the events that follow that Severus Snape learns that there is more to Harry than he'd thought- he was more Lily than he'd thought, and the James in the boy wasn't necessarily as bad as he had previously believed. Harry, in turn, also has several revelations about his not-so-evil potions professor, and discovers more about himself and his mother through them.

This is something that we worked on the last week, trying to really pin down a reference for where things are in Scum Villain because I’m very visual when it comes to that and I like fantasy worlds to have maps. There is a map that accompanies this piece. This piece may be updated and improved based on reception from the fandom and the general accuracy of it since some of it comes from many different references.
Originally this document has footnotes, because there isn’t a function for that on AO3 I will try my best to list them out at the end in the notes section

“Old man Lan?” Wei Wuxian blurted out, staring at the aged face of his former teacher.At the back of his mind, Wei Wuxian remembered the cut of his robes, that he wasn’t dressed like a widow at all, but like a Lan.
Lan Qiren looked around, his gaze stuck somewhere above Wei Wuxian’s head, most likely the half-ruined summoning array behind him – fucking stupid, Wei Wuxian should’ve gotten rid of it immediately. Just why did it have to be a Lan summoning him, why Lan Qiren his visitor at the door? Wasn’t death enough punishment?
“Wei Wuxian?” Lan Qiren asked wearily.
Or, Wei Wuxian is summoned back to life in the Cloud Recesses. Unfortunately, the person to find him is Lan Qiren, forcing the unlikely duo to work together to keep the circumstances Wei Wuxian's return undiscovered.

"I can buy you the whole damn city, old sport; anything you can possibly dream of," Gatsby whispers feverishly into Nick's ear, pressing a kiss to the other man's temple. "The New Amsterdam Theatre, Central Park Zoo, even....hell, even Lady Liberty, baby."
Nick laughs and shakes his head, the liquor still warm in his throat and causing the world around him to spin too fast. If it weren't for Gatsby's arms around his waist, he'd surely be laying in a heap on the ground.
"You don't need to buy me anything, Jay," he insists softly, feeling as if he's said such a thing too many times to count now.
"But I could. I could buy-"
Nick shakes his head again, turning around in Gatsby's arms and silencing him with a a lopsided smile and a sloppy kiss.
"You could, yes, but you don't have to. In fact...in fact you could sell this grand palace of yours, Jay, and....and lose all of your damned money in the stock market, and I'd still want you."
Gatsby doesn't respond, looking torn between disbelief and tears.
