Summary
Draco Malfoy had long since come to terms with the fact that life was unfair.
He had come to terms with it when, at the tender age of one, his dear Aunt Bellatrix had given him a gift — which turned out to be a colorblindness curse, because she thought it would be “funny” for him to see the world the way she did.
He had come to terms with it when his father dismissed his lack of color vision as “an excellent way to focus on more important things than frivolous aesthetics” (a statement which Lucius would later contradict by being absolutely livid when Draco failed to coordinate his dress robes properly for an important gala).
And he had especially come to terms with it when, time and time again, he heard people wax poetic about Potter’s brilliant green eyes — which, as far as Draco could tell, were just as gray as everything else.
Seriously, what was the big deal?
But life, as he knew, was unfair. Which was why, in his Eighth Year at Hogwarts, surrounded by former enemies who had somehow turned into friends (a whole other mess he was still figuring out), his deepest, most humiliating secret was about to be exposed.
And it was going to be Ron Weasley’s fault.

Summary
Zagreus' life in the most boring Midwestern town imaginable is decidedly ordinary. It becomes less so when he learns that nineteen years ago, his mother, who happens to be a goddess, escaped the Underword and moved so far away from home that none of his relatives there or on Olympus would ever find them.
And he's a god. Apparently.
Now that Hades has found out Zagreus is alive and on the surface, he wants his son to return to the Underworld—and he'll take him back by force if need be. The only safe way to keep Zagreus above the surface is to get him to the Olympians, but he can't make it there alone. Nyx assigns one of her sons to escort him: Thanatos, Death Incarnate, who doesn't know how to drive, hates Zag's taste in road trip snacks, and has never been kissed.
Zag's not sure why that last one feels so important.

Thanatos is prone to vanishing without warning; Zagreus has long since accepted this as his preferred way to end a conversation.
He's never done it in the bedroom before, though.
