But San isn't listening. He pushes himself up on an elbow as Seonghwa speaks and he's looking him in the eyes before he's done. The LED light softly shines pink and purple on his cheekbones, his jaw, the hair messily falling onto his face, and kissing Seonghwa would be a terrible idea just about now.

Summary
Really, San was by no means unhappy with his life. Still he couldn't complain when he suddenly ended up as an apprentice to his town's wizard due to some admittedly rather unfortunate missteps. After all, whose childhood dream wasn't to become a wizard?
Unfortunately, things don't stay sunshine and rainbows forever and San quickly finds himself entangled in something that has to be kept away from the normal townsfolk under any circumstances. He isn't even sure about what magic really is by the time he has to figure out his role in all of this.
To make it all worse, every single mage he meets is way too cute for their own good.

Summary
It isn’t easy being the pack alpha of an all-alpha pack, especially in the idol world. Tempers flare easily, and the pack alpha is supposed to minimize conflict and be the unquestionable leader—the alpha of alphas.
Admittedly, Hongjoong has no real right to hold such a title, but after nearly a decade, he’s gotten decent at faking alpha. Omegas don’t last long in this industry, not in the leader position. So what if he’s lying to everyone he loves? It’s a sacrifice for the good of ATEEZ, and Hongjoong will do anything for his members.
They’re why he keeps a bottle of “Automatic Alpha” pheromone spray in his bag and has a lock on his desk drawer where he keeps it with his suppressants, so they don’t suffer the stigma of an omega leader. They’re why he stays in the studio until the sun rises, so he can give them the best comeback.
It’s not like Hongjoong would be a good omega anyway. Not the one that his pack deserves, at least.

Yeosang leans on the counter again, intrigued.
“How so?” He asks.
“The first few years your grandparents probably made a lot of money. The town was flourishing, and tourism was at its height. They got a few good years in, then within the last, like, year and a half, things took a turn for the worse. People started leaving their vacations early. They started avoiding coming into town if they booked a trip, then things, awful things, started showing up at the edge of the lake. Dead things. Fish and other animals rotting on the shore. That’s what you smell. Boats turned up crushed and with major damage too. People hear things. A deep, sad sound like an animal that’s lost or wounded,” Mingi says. "It’s not good for business, having something in the lake.”

“I was thinking pills,” Hongjoong says nonchalantly while Seonghwa unwraps his second sandwich. He can feel the paper is hot, the bread is hot, and the chicken is probably gonna be steaming once he takes the first bite. His mouth waters with anticipation, and he takes the first bite, a real mouthful, without acknowledging what Hongjoong said.
“Whoa this is so fucking good,” his eyes roll up for a moment and he melts in his chair, throwing his head back while he alternates between chewing and sucking in air to cool down the bite in his mouth. “Do you want a bite?”
“I wanna get this over with.” His voice carries a weight as if they had been sitting there for two hours stalling instead of barely ten minutes. That’s why Seonghwa likes this place, and likes ordering something to eat, and likes taking his time to eat it — this is not a conversation to be carried hastily.
There is no such thing as just getting it over with.

Hongjoong stares—then his mouth moves before his brain does.
“Aren’t you a bit young to be working as a piercer?”
There’s a beat of silence.
Then, slowly, sweetly, the man smiles.
“And aren’t you a bit small to have so many piercings?” Mingi rakes a hand through his hair in a roguish gesture that should not be as attractive as it is, sharp eyes trailing the length of Hongjoong’s body. He cocks his head. “You’re gonna run out of surface area soon.”
Hongjoong bristles.
Hongjoong just wants to get this stupid piercing out before—heaven forbid—his ear decides to take matters into its own hands and fall right off.
