Summary
Gatsby contained infinite universes and Nick was enamoured with every glittering speck he could see, not to mention the ones he couldn't. Ironically, the iridescent source of Gatsby's infinite wonder was his boundless hope, his pursuit of Daisy that left Nick a wistful bystander, and when Gatsby stayed up all night to wait for her call, Nick stayed with him.

The ward is practically empty, but he can hear each noise outside in the empty corridor; nurses talking, murmuring, relatives, constant beeping of countless machines, some of which are his, which is kind of a weird thought. (He wishes for silence, total dead silence, but it's not going to happen any time soon.)

This is the account of the second Mrs. Watson, which I shall never publish, for it is nobody’s business but that of myself and my darling wife - and of Holmes, for he is responsible for the marriage. After all, he is the one who first introduced me to his sister.
Watson laments that he cannot court Holmes in public. Holmes has a creative solution. Shenanigans ensue.

Mark hates the pity in her voice. He wishes he'd never told her any of this. It had been easier, when she'd still had Gemma.
