He mentally summed the list up as he walked, breath fogging up in the cold Montreal air. In just over two months he’d had skin to skin contact exactly six times.
It had been bad before, during the Canadian winter, when everyone was always fully covered from head to toe, it always got worse than in summers, but this season was a new record low, even for him.
And he was going mad because of it.

Shane has only had skin on skine contact six times in two months. He's going insane because of it, becoming obsessed with every possibility of it. It impacts his sleep, concentration and eventually his game on the ice. In desperation he books a session with a massage therapist, supposedly for his tense muscles. Enter one Ilya Rozanov, massage therapist from heaven, Russian asshole, consent king and all-around good boy once you get past his general demeanor.
