As if just thinking his name is enough to summon him, Megumi saunters into the kitchen, empty tea mug in hand. He makes his way towards the kettle, wordlessly pressing a kiss into Yuuji’s forehead on his way there. The gesture is inherently comforting. He didn’t realize how much he missed it until he’d gone almost a full day without Megumi kissing him.
But, wait. That’s what this has become, but that’s not how this started.
“Oh, I’m not sick anymore Fushiguro,” Yuuji assures, “I don’t have a fever.”
Megumi doesn’t even look at him. Just continues refilling the kettle before offering a casual, “I know,” over his shoulder.
Yuuji’s face reddens instantly at his bluntness.
What could that mean?
OR what started as megumi kissing yuuji's forehead to check his fever while sick turns into a thing they just sort of do all the time now. yuuji is determined to get to the bottom of it.

"Ah — Fushiguro?" Itadori calls, running his fingers over the unfinished dark wood door. It's rough and would callouse his fingers if they lingered a second longer. "Are you in here, man?"
The door is ajar, unusual for Fushiguro. He likes his privacy, door firmly locked and, if Itadori is being honest, probably also with a door wedged under the handle. But the door is open. Slightly, enough to make a creak if it was opened more.
Itadori is unsure if he wants to take that chance, so he peers in instead. Fushiguro is in bed. Breathing nasally. The room is dark, the only light coming from the crack in the door. His navy curtains are drawn, making the room feel even darker. There's papers — assignments from weeks ago — strewn on the desk like they've been thrown at the cabinet on top and drifted down. Itadori gasps softly, eyes widening. His eyebrow furrows in worry: Fushiguro has only had the flu for three days — those papers are dusty.

Yuta tries to stay calm as he catches the dangerous sound of fibrous snapping beneath rushing footsteps. The wood in here is rotting and moldy. It really isn’t the best idea to fend off a Grade 1 so close to a ledge. Yuta’s just perpetually anxious though. It’s probably fine…
Or not. There’s a crunch, raspy “don’t move,” then a loud thud of something person-sized falling a good height and landing flat on its back.
Yuta doesn’t look before he comes out swinging. He only knows he’s aimed correctly until he feels his katana meet temporary resistance, which dissolves as the curse meets its demise, turning to dust at his feet. Luckily, Toge stopped the thing right about where he expected.
Unlucky, looks like it shoved him into the loft’s railing before he did. The corner where it turns into a banister for the fractured staircase is now a gap, with chunks of old cedar splintering off.

There’s a hand on the side of his face, tilting his head up enough to meet the eyes that are staring down at him so intently. Itadori’s eyes, Megumi’s brain helpfully supplies after a moment. Big, brown, worried eyes with pupils blown wide beneath a furrowed brow. Itadori’s hand is on his face, and he’s looking down at Megumi, and he looks worried.
What’s he so worried about?
Another rush of flushed heat pours through his torso, his abdomen feeling as though it’s being shredded from the inside out, and Megumi involuntarily squeezes his eyes shut, cut off from staring back up at those familiar, soft, pretty brown eyes.
Why is Itadori so concerned? He looks better when he’s happy. Unburdened.

“You do not see the way they look at me,” Lo’ak whispered, drawing Jake’s attention back. Lo’ak’s tight features melted away as he continued, “My mom has barely spoken to me since Neteyam died, barely looked at me. And my dad—” his voice broke, and he cleared his throat as if trying to free the words lodged there. “He blames me. And he is right.”
