Summary
Viktor shifted. “The arcane is a force to be reckoned with, and it is not dismissed easily. When we used the rune to rectify my mistake, we were pulled into it as well. I was able to escape because of my connection to the hexcore.” His gaze drifted to the rune in her hand. He frowned. “Jayce wasn’t. I worry that they would simply confiscate the rune without hearing me out.”
Mel looked at the rune as it seemed to hum ever-so-slightly. “He’s still in there,” she said. Relief flooded her, and a kind of joy she hadn’t felt since before the battle at Piltover.Or: in the aftermath of their decision to reverse the conversion, Jayce ends up trapped in the rune. Viktor follows Mel to Noxus to ask for her help and together they learn how to use their arcane abilities and investigate the Black Rose.

Dean Winchester's soul did not beckon him. When first encountering the newly deceased reapers often felt a deep pull at their core, an instinct to guide them to their rightful place. It was in their very nature to shepherd the lost towards their afterlife. They had no other purpose.
But looking at Dean, Castiel felt no such instinct. Neither did he feel the urge to comfort him.
In fact, despite staring at his own mangled corpse lying 5 feet away from him, the man seemed no worse for wear. This made him unlike any other soul Castiel had ever seen.
And the immediate subject of his attention.(A role swap of sorts with reaper!cas, ghost!dean, and a whole lot more demon powers)

Summary
Annabelle was there right from the beginning when he woke up. She was the one who brushed the webbed curls of hair from his face, pulled him from his tangle of slumber. When he merely stared at her, confused; she sighed, wrapped him up in her six arms, and carried him to the webbed den she tentatively called home.
That definition would solidify in time. There was, after all, a reason why children were not made into avatars. They did not yet know enough of the world to solidify their own fears, nightmares ever-shifting, changing, unstable. And he would need to be taught many things.

Summary
He was startled by a voice behind him. “May I have this dance?” Sam turned to see Ponk holding his hand out, his white hair free from the usual mask. Instead a red and gold veil covered the lower half of his face and for a moment Sam was taken aback.
Even when they’d been together Ponk would rarely remove his mask. It was a comfort to him, he’d said. Some small reassurance that his face at least was safe from prying eyes. A constant in the otherwise ever-shifting manner of the server. When Sam had told him that it was strange to be self-conscious about it given how unusual everyone else looked here he had simply laughed it off and kept it on all the same. And Sam had never understood the habit.
As if it was second nature, he took the other man’s hand. Dancing with him was different. Things with Ponk had always been different. “Of course.” His other hand found its place against the small of Ponk’s back. -

Summary
Techno grunted. “So what? I don’t see how having your little puppet grab supplies for you would involve us in any way.”
“Oh, no, it does.” Dream’s tone shifted suddenly, sharp and edged. And from the way everyone grabbed at their shields, they all noticed. He took a step forward. “See, I didn’t ask Eret to get anything for me. They weren’t even supposed to be in this war! But, well, they just had to fuck that right up.”
Niki couldn’t take anymore. “What did you do?” she asked, voice trembling, even as Dream’s influence gripped at her heart and stole her breath. How unfair that a being so powerful would use his abilities to hurt others.
And Dream just stood there, like he was above it all. God, how she hated him for that. “Historically,” he said, head turned to look right at her, “traitor kings have always been dealt with in a particularly… gruesome fashion. I don’t know why Eret thought they’d get any different.” And he held out his hand and conjured something from his inventory. The shape shifted, like liquid, for a moment before settling. A golden crown. The jewels of it glimmered in the lantern light. He tossed it onto the floor and it rolled down the stairs, coming to a stop at Niki’s feet.

Summary
As they walked, Toga surveyed the destruction left over from the fight. Most of the surrounding buildings had been completely destroyed by the fight, their pieces scattered on the ground. Those that hadn’t been were missing chunks, chipped edges marring them as if they were porcelain pots instead of towering, sturdy structures.
It made for interesting scenery, at least.
And then something, or rather someone caught her eye. A flash of red and light brown on the barren landscape. Toga felt a sudden, scalding sort of fury burn within her, the likes of which she had never remembered feeling before. Different than the usual bloodlust and thirst for violence, somehow. This was deeper than that. -

Yamaguchi Tadashi was 8 years old when he saw his first hydrangea flower. He had been on a school trip to a nearby park, with Tsukishima. As a first-grader he’d been an… admittedly distracted child, prone to distraction. It hadn’t been long before he’d dragged a protesting Tsukki away from the rest of the group towards another path.
It felt better to be alone with him, anyhow. Though Yamaguchi hadn’t quite understood his feelings yet.
“Y-Yamaguchi,” Tsukki said as he was pulled by the hand across a river. He made sure to tread on the stepping stones carefully, adjusting his glasses with his other hand. “I’m not sure if we should be going this way. This is a big park, we could get lost.”

Marceline turned to her, surprised. “Wait, really?”
“Really. You’re right, I’ve been letting all this get to me.” She gestured to her cluttered lab. “And that’s just what the Lich wants. Besides, the Candy Kingdom’ll still be here when we get back, right?”
“Well…”“Marcy!”
The vampire chuckled. “I’m kidding, I’m kidding!” she reassured the princess. “We’ll be gone for, like, three hours max.”
Bonnibel’s face scrunched up in uncertainty. “Wait, I’m not so sure any-”
“Too late, we’re going. Hang on tight!” Marceline took her hand and led to her the balcony just outside the window, grinning wildly. Before Bonnibel could protest, she stepped onto the balcony railing and jumped into the night air, pulling her close. Princess Bubblegum gave a small “oh!” of surprise, clinging tightly to Marceline. It was night now, she realised, dark and cold. The stars seemed to twinkle alluringly, calling to them. And then Marceline flew.
My full piece for the bubbline zine. Enjoy!

Summary
Jude found them wandering the outskirts of London. And at the grocer's, no less. It had been a month since the Watcher’s Crown, the ritual that had damned the world many times over (14 if you were keeping track).
All that glittered was now gone. At first she thought they were human, a pair of wayward souls who had somehow survived everything. She usually let them go these days. But the feeling of being watched hit her eventually, and Jude felt a fury bubbling up in her the likes of which she hadn’t felt in a very long time.Series

Summary
When Anathema was 7, she had her first prophecy. They came in quick flashes of color, vibrant and wildly disorienting. Not unlike, she would reason later, the migraines that would become far too common in her early 20s. Needless to say, this was all very terrifying for a little girl who'd only just learned how to ride a bike. She ignored them for a time, until they became too frequent to ignore and she ran to her mother for advice.
In which Anathema inherits her ancestor's ability to see prophecies, and everything shifts.

Summary
“Never did get to finish that dance,” Aziraphale hummed thoughtfully. He slid a coaster under the cup of cocoa he’d been drinking from.
Crowley laughed. “Are you tempting me, angel?”
The other cleared his throat, looking embarrassed. “Yes, well, I suppose a little temptation here and there can’t be helped,” he said primly. He extended a hand to Crowley. “Would you dance with me, my dear?” -

Summary
If you asked Rose, she'd say she had everything she needed. A succesful tattoo parlour in downtown Cardiff, a good group of friends who always had her back, and a small cafe next door where she could get her coffee. Her life was simple, really. There wasn’t much to it, and not much changed. She liked it that way. Little did she know it would all change with the little flower stall a few blocks away.

These days, the voices whisper too loudly for her to sleep. They roar in her ear, murmuring of deceits and conspiracies. She knows the whispers are false, merely lies created by her own mind… and yet there are there. When they keep her tossing and turning late at night, she will force herself outside to meet her thief.
