Until one of the killer's shows up at his house, who hasn't been seen since, 1x1x1x1. It appears they're on the run and Elliot had taken in a wanted fugitive (forcefully).
He wasn't in for the ride he had just gotten himself into.

Summary
Elliot looked at everybody as if they were something special. He smiled brightly, gave affection as easy as water, asked about people’s days with real interest even if it was just to fill the air. He made people smile; he made people comfortable. Perhaps too comfortable. Elliot didn't mind being taken for granted. At the end of the day all that mattered was making their day a little, even just a smidge, better. Maybe he made a difference to someone.
Does he lack dignity? Self-respect? To be walked over, to become a doormat, just to make people he won’t ever see again happy for fleeting moments?
It angered 1x to no end. How could someone be this naïve, this stupid, this perfect for what? Just to get a backhand across the face like he was nothing but dirt?
It happened once, a few days after he was freed from that cursed book. Held captive by the admins, who thought it would totally not be a waste of time to give 1x a chance to conform to society. They took away his swords and locked him away from his armor, forcing mortal customs onto him.
