Trevor scrambled up and away from where the creature had just caught him again, panting harshly in the dark mists of the woods, and tried to figure out had been done to him this time, looking down at his hands.
Moving was more difficult than before, because the vampire had connected the bonds on his wrists to the ones on his thighs with chains, preventing him from raising them more than a foot. A tendril of terror started to work its way through him, as he realized how helpless this made him. He couldn’t even lift his hands above his waist.
Trevor looked up at Adrien in horror, the vampire watching him with a calm interest, sitting with one leg crossed over the other on a tree stump.
The vampire only smiled, and said, “You’d better run, while you still can.”
