“This city is under my jurisdiction,” Viktor says softly. “There must be balance, order, control. Without it, all hell breaks loose.”
Jayce stares at him, silent. Then, without thinking, he spits in the demon’s face.
“Fuck your balance.”
The Greater Demon does not react. Jayce’s stomach tightens. It had been pure impulse—his usual reflex when cornered, when overpowered. But he’s forgotten what he’s dealing with. The Greater Demon could probably make him evaporate on the spot if he willed it.
Calmly, Viktor wipes the spit away with his free hand, his expression unchanged.
“You are… intriguing,” he says. “More than most. So I will make you an offer.”
Jayce looks at him, dubiety evident in his eyes.
“A deal?”
“Not quite,” the demon says. “A game.”

“Aren’t you supposed to be a demon?” Jayce looks the decidedly humanoid figure up and down. The demon (if that is indeed what he is) arrows his eyes. The strange, seductive glamour around him wavers.
“I am a demon. A tentacle demon, if we are going to be technical about it.”
“It’s just… You don’t look like a tentacle demon.”
“Oh, I am sorry, let me just—” The self-proclaimed tentacle demon rolls his eyes. In the next moment, his form seems to unfurl, and he unleashes his— well, his tentacles. His sclera darken to a deep, inky black, and his shadow fills the room. If the demon’s expression weren’t so deadpan, Jayce might have pissed himself in fear. As it is, the demon’s tentacles wiggle limply in a poor approximation of jazz hands, as if to say ‘ta-da!’
Slow, horrible realization creeps over Jayce. He just microaggressed a demon. He's a monster. Worse, he’s… rude.

Viktor has always considered himself a reasonable man. Well, he’s not so much a man anymore, more machine than man. But that didn’t mean he couldn’t be reasonable as a machine too
And in Viktor’s personal opinion, it would be reasonable to expect that when one sets a date, one keeps that date. That would be an entirely reasonable assumption to make, no?
So when Viktor shows up to battle Jayce Giopara as per their usual routine, and said Giopara is nowhere to be seen, Viktor was, reasonably, a little pissed off.

It was over.
Victor Gideon was dead, Zeno was in pieces and the last ghosts of Umbrella was burning to the ground. Leon stepped out of his car and looked at his front door where the porch light was shining like a beacon in the dark, a sign that his husband was home and up waiting for him. The surge of love and affection that ran through him nearly made him stagger. He had missed Chris so much during his entire journey, never knowing if the kiss he gave him the day before when he and Piers went running off after another lead on a cure for was going to be their last.
Or: Leon comes home and shows Chris just how much he missed him.
