“It’s not true.” The man’s voice is rough as a knife over gravel and is short enough to make the bard falter at his tone. It takes him a moment to realize he’s referring to the story he’d told as part of the festival.
“You don’t believe in the lost lovers?” he asks, offended to the very core of his romantic heart. He stands a little straighter to glare up at the larger man. “I’ll have you know that my story comes from the works of Master Essi herself--she knew the lovers herself. It's the foundation story of our whole town and this festival! How can you say the story isn’t true?”
A shadow crosses over the stranger’s face and eyes that flash gold flick away from the bard to stare at the trees and the lonely hill. Despite himself, the bard feels his heart ache at the grief in his expression.
“He didn’t come back.”

Summary
Over winter at Kaer Morhen with Ciri, Geralt realizes that he loves Jaskier, and has for years. Everyone at the keep decides the only logical thing that can happen is that Geralt court and wed Jaskier. But Geralt wants to do it properly. So the strongest, most fearsome warriors in all the land, research how to woo a minor noble and send Geralt back into the world with elaborate lists and a game plan.
And it all is going great. Courting turns out to be a lot easier than he expected. He and Jaskier will be married well before the return to Kaer Morhen for the winter!
Jaskier is thrilled to have his best friend back, and be off adventuring again. Geralt is behaving a bit oddly, but well, people get weird sometimes.
A fic where Jaskier is the romantically clueless one. Just because he sings about love, doesn't mean he'll see it - even when it is Witcher sized and holding flowers right in his face.

Today was, without a single doubt, the most peculiar day of Jaskier’s life.
“I’m sorry,” he said to Yennefer, blinking up at her, very glad that he was seated on the side of the thin bed. “I think you just said that I’m pregnant.”
The sorceress’s violet eyes harbored not an iota of humor. She crossed her arms under her ample bosom, and said, “You are pregnant.”
“Pregnant with a magnificent bounty of well-crafted songs?”
Her eyes narrowed. Under any other circumstances, he would have felt a mighty frisson of fear skittering down his spine. He was far too horrified of the words that rolled off her plump, red-painted lips next.
“You are pregnant with a baby.”
______________________________________In which Jaskier discovers that he's mysteriously pregnant but wants the baby, Geralt finally learns to use his words after twenty years, Yennefer is so done with two idiots in love and their communication problems, and Ciri gains a new family.
(The main story is complete at 10 chapters, but will be updated with codas about Geralt and Jaskier and their life following the events of the main story. Also features my art!)

Jaskier hopped down from the table he had been standing on, and wound his way quickly through the crowd to Geralt’s side, smiling up at him big and bright and like nothing had ever happened.
Geralt remembered the last words he’d exchanged with the bard, tone cruel and desperate and bitter. He could see Jaskier’s face as he said them. That feeling in his chest tightened and twisted and writhed uncomfortably.-
I've seen so many angsty takes on Geralt and Jaskier navigating their fight on the mountain, but I really wanted to come at that idea from a different angle. So, Geralt feels super bad about everything he said on the mountain and is EXPECTING a huge blowup from Jaskier, but then Jaskier just forgives and forgets like it's nothing and they're travelling together again like usual and why does Geralt still feel kinda shitty about all this?
Basically, Geralt learns about feeling guilty, and how sometimes apologies are as much for yourself as they are the other person.

In which Jaskier had once been so desperate for coin he'd sold his body, Geralt has taken a contract with a sadistic bastard, and Jaskier is going to do something that Geralt would most definitely not approve of (which, really, never turns out well for anybody).
