Summary
The enemy turns around as E4 approaches. The mercenary once known as Slab, or the ghost of her, stares E4 down.
“I’ve identified the target, Slab,” comes a voice over the comms. She uses E4’s callsign, but she isn’t talking to him. “That’s the mercenary who took your name. Let’s see how far he can tread… on borrowed stone.”
Or, E4-148 earns his use of the "Slab" callsign once and for all.

Summary
Martyn's boots crunch against leaves and gravel as he approaches the house, the small flyer clutched in one hand. It looks like any other old house, albeit tinged with the same eeriness that plagues this area. The windows are dirty, and the highest window, which Martyn can only assume is the attic, is boarded over. The eaves slope in odd places, and the front step creaks loudly as Martyn steps up to the door.
This house, he notices, boasts yet another willow, tall and looming over the house’s back windows. It, too, has lost most of its leaves, its branches abandoned to sway in the wind, creaking and scratching against each other and the wall.
The willow isn't the only sound. Martyn can hear another odd noise, but he can't for the life of him place what it's supposed to be. It sounds kind of like something wailing on the wind... is that the beast the flyer was for?
Or, Martyn takes a job to slay a beast trapped within a family's attic.

A whole day passes like this—digging soil and stone, washing away the phantom of blood in his hair with dirt and dust. Ren buries himself lower and lower, up until he realizes he hasn’t told Lizzie.

It’s not like Thorn is really hurting anyone, not really. He’s only ever meant to be a nuisance, honestly—a thorn in Frostburn’s side. Once Thorn beats Frost—once Ren sees how strong Martyn is—this can all go back to normal. Ren will stop benching Martyn for being weak, and Martyn can stop being Thorn. He'll go right back to being Rose, fighting at Frostburn’s side. That’s all Martyn really wants.
They’re meant to be partners, after all. If Ren would just remember…

Summary
Around the Captain’s waist is a coat Ren knows very well.
Ren never did recover his Hand’s body. It was taken by the pirates who killed him. Pirates like the Captain, who now wears the coat like a twisted trophy.
This is the man who killed Martyn.
Ren is so beyond the point of being afraid for his worthless, meaningless life. If he can make the Captain bleed for what he's done, then it will all have been worth it.

Summary
Welcome to Lamplight, a DnD/Fantasy Third/Last Life Renchanting AU. Ren is a god stuck in the form of living fire. Martyn is his sole follower. Martyn and Ren help free one another from imprisonment by the Watchers and are now traveling the world on a two-man adventure of fond companionship and occasional arson.
Plot was made up with the help of tumblr user @/unexpectedly-haunted.

The air smelled spicy, thick and incensed, with an underlying musk like that of livestock in cramped quarters. Phil caught a whiff of Nether smoke, hot stone and sulfur. Lava nearby. That was just what he needed, wasn't it. He twisted his head off the ground as the fuzz left his sight and saw a temple constructed of basalt and netherrack, with red nylium snaking up the walls in warped formations.
There was a solid gold altar at one end of the room.
Fucking figured those villagers were cultists.

this is such a fun concept, i really love this fic and think it's really interesting!!
