Summary
In good weather, one can see the lighthouse at the Rock from the shore: a dot on the horizon, a distant star flashing red and white and red again.
It’s been dark for a fortnight, of course—ever since the incident that every newspaper had breathlessly written about, that the paper-boys on the corners had shouted themselves hoarse over.
This is where Aziraphale is headed: it is his duty, after all, to find out what happened, to make sure that the beacon can be safely lit once again.
He does not expect Crowley to follow him to the windswept isle, to the lonely lighthouse at what could just as well be the edge of the world.
Crowley follows him anyway.

She looks unimpressed. “Have you told him you want him to fuck you?”

This story was so realistic it hurt. I have a friend who suffers from depression and past trauma and so many passages in the book were painfully relatable. A true work of art.

This one was a pearl. So good and well written. Writing Bucky mustn't be easy, and still this is all from his point of view, and a huge success. Loved it.

Summary
While on a mission storming a HYDRA facility, James Buchanan Barnes touches one of the many strange alien devices collected by the Red Skull. He does this, in fact, twice— in the past, and in the future.
Next thing he knows, Bucky Barnes is opening his eyes in the 21st century, which is full of great gadgets and coffee, and at least includes his old pal Steve. (And, inexplicably, a different Stark.) Meanwhile, the Winter Soldier finds himself in the middle of World War Two, helping Captain America hunt down HYDRA (which is at least familiar), pretending to be Bucky Barnes (which is not), and figuring out the very noisy group of soldiers who call themselves the Howling Commandos.

But when a makeshift team rises from the ashes, when a mysterious presence all but drags Steve there, he begins to think there may be hope yet. As they shoot for the stars one last time, Steve will get proof yet again that the future is nothing if not an echo of the past.

Summary
“It hurts most the first time, but you get used to it,” Bucky whispered. Steve jerked at the sound; it was Brooklyn, it was 1939, it was Bucky. “Bucky!” he tried to scream through the gag, fresh tears coming down his face. “You’re strong though. You’ll make a good asset. I’ll show you.”
“He’s secure,” Bucky said, voice toneless and mechanic once more
The chair lowered and Steve was screaming through the gag, still thrashing against the restraints even harder. Something lowered over his head and pressed against his face. He could not even jerk his face away, he was held too tightly. He met Bucky’s eyes; desperate, terrified as he tried to tell Bucky everything, tried to convince Bucky to stop this through eye contact alone.
The machine revved up under the chair. Bucky smiled down at him. Then all Steve knew was pain before darkness finally took hold of him. The last thing he saw was Bucky smiling. He looked the same. -

Summary
Take a dragon and get rid of it, take a Kingdom under the Mountain and let it thrive under Thráin’s rule, take the King’s eldest son - as proud and arrogant as you can picture him - and then send him to the Shire in order to refine his diplomatic skills. Or, as his sister puts it: to grow them at last. Now, throw in the Master of Bag End playing host for the dwarf prince: you’ll get a clash of cultures, an ill-advised bet about educating a certain hobbit in the dwarf-lore, and all the pride and prejudice business you could hope for, plus Khuzdul.
A retelling inspired by My Fair Lady.

I now know I love this author. Although this story is very different from "Theft" (which might even be my favourite fanfiction ever) I truly enjoyed it. I was quite well aquainted with Pygmalion and My fair lady, and I loved how this was a sort of hobbit retelling of it. I also could not help noticing how the author has mastered the English language in such a beautiful way, with a massive improvement from Theft (which as I said is absolutely stunning already!). Some words, some sentences, some passages made my heart flutter and my mind aspire to be this great at expressing my ideas one day. Inspiring. Beautiful.

Summary
It seemed very possible Thorin had irritated someone with magic. He had no clue what he had done, but there was only so long he could ignore the signs.
The air grew warm around them, far from pleasantly. The lady stood taller and raised her hand. She ran it over his body, hovering just above him, and sang something in a language that he couldn’t understand. His skin tingled at the words and it felt like there was a vise squeezing at his heart. He gasped vainly for air while his side flared with pain and the lady’s eyes met his.
“Hear me now, stone-tender. You will walk this earth, doomed to see and absorb what you fear until you embrace it. Until you can speak your heart and understand the heart of others, you will lack the control you so cling to.”
All he had wanted to do was rebuild Erebor. Now it looked like he would have to battle the emotions of everyone in the Lonely Mountain to do so.
He really hated elves. And magic.

"Bilbo never bothers denying that he is a slight, little bit, probably infatuated with Thorin. It’s not something that bothers him. Really. He’s pretty sure that everyone very likely has a little flutter in their chest for the dwarf. He’s something grand and unattainable.
And it’s really much safer if it stays that way."

Stunning. I always feel like it is so hard to describe Sherlock's point of view properly. He is so different from the average human being, his mind so fast, his brain so efficient. And yet this story did it perfectly. And that is not even the best part, because Sherlock finds out he is capable of emotion even when nearly everyone else thought he could never be, and all because John always saw right through him, always suspected, and never gave up. Unbearably beautiful.

I usually prefer longer stories, but this one was worth it. I love the way it was very true to canon and how it melted perfectly into it. I also loved the mention of Fili and Kili's relationship. The ending nearly made me cry.
