Summary
Something smells so good. Wei Ying closes his eyes, already feeling sleepy, and tries to identify where the scent is coming from. He turns his face to one side and then the other, chasing it, until his nose touches Lan Zhan’s cheek.
He pulls back quickly, not freaking out, because it’s fine. He touched Lan Zhan’s cheek with his nose, and Lan Zhan smells really fucking good, and they’re lying down together on a very soft bed because Lan Zhan is too drunk to let go of him, and Lan Zhan is gay but Wei Ying isn’t, and it’s fine.
Wei Ying swallows hard and closes his eyes again.

Wei Ying helps Lan Zhan out of an uncomfortable situation, and they grow close right away, becoming instant friends. To Lan Zhan, they become instant something else. With time, they only get closer and closer, and Wei Ying is forced to deal with his own feelings about Lan Zhan, and his perception of his own sexuality.

He's known it for a while. Since – well, if he really stops to think about it, if he's honest with himself in the way his teenage self had no idea how to be, since approximately two minutes and forty seconds into their first competition together on the junior circuit at fourteen years old.
It took him a while to figure it out. And by then, well – by then he knew Lan Zhan wasn't interested.
Lan Zhan isn't interested in that with anyone, and least of all Wei Ying.
Wei Ying is a competitive figure skater at the peak of his career.
So is Lan Zhan.
This is the season where everything changes.

Still, as he was half-naked in bed with Mianmian, with Lan Zhan, also stripped down to his waist, spooned up behind her, he had to pause for a moment in the middle of undressing her and wonder just how he had gotten here.
Or, Wei Wuxian, thinking he's just being a good buddy, decides to get Lan Wangji together with Mianmian. Things don't go as planned.

He’s a lip biter, has a habit of picking at his dry lips, the winter sores at the corner of his mouth. It drives Lan Zhan to madness. He dreams of Wei Ying’s puffy mouth, often, sometimes with the real Wei Ying in a sleeping bag on the floor next to his bed. On mornings like those he wakes up in a cloud of embarrassment—hobbling to the bathroom at dawn, running a loud shower to hide the sounds. Wei Ying sleeps on.
“How do I—” Wei Ying starts, stops. He then lets out a single laugh, another. He says: “Oh my god. How do I kiss? Lan Zhan, how do I kiss?”
