Summary
This synopsis contains great spoilers for SkyHigh, I highly recommend that you go and read that one before this one!
One moon after the end of SkyHigh, TorrentClan is beginning to adjust to a life without Thorne. It's been hard, especially with many great cats lost, including Snowmask. The Clan is fewer in numbers than it ever has been, weakened by the confrontation. The massive wound that Throne left is still fresh. The alliance between SplashClan and TorrentClan needs to carry on, and both Nightstalk and Onestep are willing to do anything to protect it.
Trouble stirs up inside the Clan too. Thoughts and ill-worded conversations is distancing TorrentClan from StarClan further, whilst the bond and eagerness towards Willowstone the Reincarnator grows. Sooner or later, TorrentClan might be split in half, and the two sides will begin fighting.
And, during all of this, RapidClan is growing in the shadows, its greed sparking life into past conflicts.

Summary
Snowmask is the deputy of TorrentClan, one of four Clans that live by The River of Abundance. The deputy is sent on a mission that might cost his life; to infiltrate a group of brutal rogues who had been killing off his Clan one by one. There, he adopts a new personality under the alias “Sky", and must kill and lie his way to the top to get his paws on the group's plan and stop them before his Clan is destroyed. Snowmask will get the help of an unspoken deity, who bears powers more powerful than StarClan themself.
Back in TorrentClan, Snowmask's friend Nightstalk rise up to take his place as deputy. She must fight back judgment and setbacks to earn her place in TorrentClan, and do whatever to keep her Clan and herself afloat.
