Rules for babysitting, teaching Makkari the wonders of streaming and smartphone addictions. Sersi, Sprite and Phastos sure have their hands full.

"There are no skunks on Skellige."
"I am as drunk as a Skelligen monk, then."
Which is fairly drunk, all things considered; Skelligens don't fuck around about that sort of thing.
Geralt has been foolish about many things in his long life, and every time to his detriment; he'll not make the mistake of deluding himself that someone like Jaskier, with all the world open to him and everything to offer in return, would ever really choose Geralt's company in that way.
(Geralt may not be a reliable narrator of his own life.)

Something twists inside of Bucky. This is so softly domestic; for a moment it feels as though he’s looking at something he shouldn’t, something far too intimate and sweet for his eyes. But it is him. Those are his eyes, so he doesn’t understand this nagging urge to stop intruding until it’s too late.
“Oh,” Sam says, “Oh, wait, they’re—”
And then James leans down and kisses Thomas square on the mouth.
“You were saying?” Bucky chokes out, staring ahead.
From the corner of his eye, he sees Sam nodding, “They’re uh… together. That’s a thing.”

The only way Geralt knows how to get people to listen to him is through anger and violence. So he does the same with Jaskier. It's always "Don't touch that!", "Stay out of my way!" and "Shut up!". Except it never works on the bard who seems hell-bent on disobeying each of Geralt's requests (read: orders). And it's Yennefer of all people who gets him hooked on the idea of trying positive reinforcement instead.
