Summary
When Diluc can't sleep, he doesn't wait for his demons to prod at his scars and remind him of his mistakes. Mondstadt needs a protector, and he is more than willing to become its guardian at night — as long as it keeps his past at bay.
But when his feet lead him back to his and Kaeya's childhood 'hideout', he can't keep ignoring the guilt and grief he wears like a second skin.
Even moreso when he realizes he isn't alone.

I've done my best to cover more or less all the evidence pointing towards Narumitsu, from what we see in the games to what the anime added, to hidden hints in the expanded universe, out-of-universe events that support the ship and some meta/analysis thrown in for fun. Enjoy!

Both of those statements were true: he wanted very badly to see Phoenix, and he did indeed have pressing and important business in Los Angeles. Summary
After all they've been through, it's strange that something so important could be so simple, but for Miles and Phoenix, falling in love, at least, doesn't have to be the end of the world.
Some stress relief fluff that I wrote purely to cheer myself up - there is literally negative plot but there is a lot of lawyers falling into the bright and bitter kind of love that can only come from a lifetime of belligerent teamwork.
(The anxiety tag just refers to Edgeworth's reaction to earthquakes and mentions of a psychologist, btw)
