Summary
“Fuck.” Kim leverages his body as a prop for Harry to lean on, letting him brace himself against his shoulder, and darts his eyes down to Harry’s hip almost expecting to see blood pooling out. That’s ridiculous, of course. The wound is more than three months old now, what with his medical leave and Kim’s transfer and everything that has happened in this weird transitional space. It won’t reopen itself. Not after all that time. But it’s clear that it troubles him; something internal, hot and searing. He winces when Kim wraps his fingers around his forearm to stabilise him, too. “Khm. Sorry, was that-”
“No, no, you’re fine. Sorry. I feel like one big bruise today. Skin hurts.”
“You don’t have to apologise for me hurting you.”Kim and Harry head back to Martinaise to investigate the disappearance of a Wild Pines negotiator who appears to have walked of his own volition out into the sea. Harry struggles with his chronic pain in the wake of his gunshot wound. Despite all of this, they continue to silently pine.

“Doing the dishes?” Martin murmurs in his ear. Jon can smell the cheap rosemary scent of his shampoo, wafting from his still-wet hair, and the sweet mint of his toothpaste. “I would’ve done them with you, if you’d waited.”
“I wanted to,” Jon murmurs back. “You made dinner, it’s only fair.”
He can feel Martin’s smile as he says, “Well, thank you, sweetheart, you didn’t have to do that,” and leans down to kiss the back of his neck.

And it’s not like Jon cares or anything, but it does bother him, to see all of Martin’s warmth replaced with paranoia. It’s off-putting to see someone usually so alive now be so shrunken in on himself.

“Because you’re stressed. And so am I,” he replied. He twisted to reach into his satchel, then pulled out a corkscrew. “And I don’t know about you, but relaxing is all but impossible for me, so once in a while it’s nice to cheat and get some help with it. Usually I just sit and unwind with it at home, but I figured…” He reached out and offered the corkscrew to Martin. The universe’s strangest olive branch. “Unless you’re opposed?”
Jon’s question was not a challenge, nor was it laced with any suggestion of expectation. It was just clarification; an offer to back out if Martin truly was uncomfortable with the prospect of getting wine-drunk with Jon.
It's been about a week since Martin temporarily moved into the archives, and between the fear caused by Prentiss and the confusion caused by Jon suddenly being a bit nicer, he's been a bit flustered. This has not gone unnoticed by Jon, who is nothing if not someone who tries to take initiative.Series

Martin seems to shrink in on himself a little. It hurts to watch, especially after how Jon’s seen him so painstakingly grow back into his openness over the past few weeks.
“I don’t know,” he says. “I don’t – I don’t.”
“But you remember me?” says Jon, and he tries to keep as much feeling out of that question as he can.
