Summary
In some weird, twisted way, misery loves Sanji's company.
He'd been cleaning dishes after a large meal, watching the soap swirl down down the drain, when he realizes something that put his entire way of being in jeapordy. It was something so terrifyingly detrimental to his own wellbeing that he couldn't even put it together. It drove Sanji nearly insane, thinking about this sudden change.
He couldn't even begin to tell you when he noticed it, or how he even felt at the beginning of it, but once he caught on to the fact that he'd been looking a little too closely at someone he shouldn't, it felt like a record scratch in his brain.
He'd developed a little bit of a crush on the swordsman, it seemed.

Shiki turns quickly toward the sound of the voice. He sees a guy in black and red, thinking back to that last stocking. Machina X Flayon, it read. This must be him, Shiki thinks as he composes himself. “Ah-um, Shiki,” Shiki answers, “Shiki Katagami-”
“What business do you have here?”
“A petitioner sent me, the purple exorcist of your guild,” he continues, as calm as he can be. “Hakka if my memory serves me right.”
“And how can I trust that?”
“Here,” Shiki says. He puts the book of contracts in the guy’s hand, flipping to the contract in question. Please help my friend Flayon this Christmas Eve scribbled in Hakka’s very own handwriting, signed by the exorcist himself. Really, the meticulous documentation of his nature quite literally is a life saver in this moment.

Summary
A bitter laugh bubbles up from Dirk’s throat at the situation that always seemed to creep up into their relationship. He can’t help it, really. Even if it’s a mean, bitter and cold tone, Dirk couldn’t help the fact that this was all too rich. All he wanted was to go back to the laundry room and have some sort of peace after having a decent night with some friends, but even that was too much. Harper yells and accuses him of doing something he’s not doing, Dirk has to defend himself. He waits for things to get better, they never do. He spirals and wonders about his own self-worth, it ends up bad. His life was a circle and he was tired, but never knew what to do about it. Dirty laundry is always going to need a place to be put; they’re always going to be orbiting each other even if they break it off.
This was just….his life. They’re not good for each other and they both know it, but neither of them wanted to break it off; even if Dirk was tired of it, he resigned himself to his learned helplessness, hence the bitter laugh.
or: Dirk and Harper break up, and Dirk finds out that The Hanks are exceptionally good at figuring out jumbled up feelings.

Summary
Sanji was absolutely stunning, if Zoro could even say that much. But that was one of those things that would stay in the brain; Sanji was too busy laughing and flirting with the bartender at the opposite end of the bar. Joy and happiness painted his face. Of course it did, Zoro couldn't help but think as he nursed his drink--a local drink that was something akin to sake in strength that Zoro found himself enjoying.
He wonders if he could ever change Sanji's mind. It's a lingering hope even though he knows he should just squash it before it becomes a problem for the rest of the crew.
As they head back to the Sunny, tipsy but feeling alright, Sanji grabs Zoro's hand. “So you don't get lost,” he says, cheeks rosy and breath smelling of wine. He's on a high that Zoro hadn't ever seen Sanji on before when they frequented dives and bars prior, but happiness looks good on him so Zoro can't complain much.

Rayleigh hadn’t talked about Oro Jackson since Roger died. He never felt like he could; even if he wanted to, the intense churning in his stomach intensified at the thought of it shutting down any possibility of it ever happening--not that people weren’t ever curious about intricate details of their lives. Anniversaries pass and articles wondering about the rest of the band come out and all Rayleigh wants to do is be left alone. He doesn’t want anything to do with all the gossip and all the rumors; hell, he’s a bit over the celebrity life and wishes he could go back to the time where he wasn’t known. All the paparazzi with their flashing lights in his face everywhere he went, asking him about how he feels about everything even when he just wants to run and hide from the truth, were overwhelming and Rayleigh was over it. Especially when they ask him about how he felt about Roger.
What could he say to them in response? What could he say other than he wanted more time? That they deserved more time?

Summary
Everything slowly mounts until he’s pushing back against Zane’s orders, making snide remarks under his breath about the people he’s talking to. At some point, Kai says something particularly snippy that Zane doesn’t appear too pleased by.
“Kai,” he says sharply, “that’s enough. Behave.”
Kai shrinks back for a second but corrects himself, folding his arms across his chest petulantly and rolling his eyes. “Whatever you say, sir.”
Zane’s eyes narrow at him.
