this fic really hit close to home. i related so much to wonwoo and how he deals with emotions, his anxieties, and his fear of commitment and relationships just felt so real. it’s like i’m seeing myself in him. the way he reacted to being liked by mingyu and liking him back made so much sense, especially with how new it all was to him. i loved how the story gave him space to focus on himself first, to heal and work through his personal and family issues, before fixing things with mingyu. it showed how much he cared, not just about mingyu and their relationship, but about being better for himself too. wonwoo was 22 in this and i am now 22. life is getting reeaaal rough and it’s just… a lot. i’m in a tough spot in life right now and i don’t really know how i’m gonna move forward. at this age, you start realizing how messy growing up really is, how you carry things from your childhood without even noticing, how healing isn’t linear, and how scary it is to let yourself be vulnerable, especially when you’ve spent so long avoiding it. it just made wonwoo’s journey hit even harder.
i also want to give flowers to mingyu. i know it’s hard to fight for a love that you don’t even know will work out in the end, but he still chose to stay. he was so patient with wonwoo, even when it was painful, even when he didn’t know if he’d ever be loved back the way he loved. that’s how much he cared. that’s how much he loved him. he didn’t force wonwoo to change, he just stayed, and that kind of quiet, steady love really hit me.
it’s also so nice to see how both of them have their own support systems to help them. especially wonwoo with jeonghan, the way they bonded and how wonwoo opened up to him, because through that, he was able to realize so many things and start working on himself. he accepted that he needed therapy to heal. it wasn’t rushed or magically fixed. it was gradual and painful and real. it showed that healing isn’t something that can be achieved in just one snap, that it still comes and goes before that bone on your chest can be picked off.
it was so genuine and beautifully written. it has minwon and it also has jihan and taekook so this is everything to me! i thought 21 chapters and almost 200k words would feel long, but i got so invested i finished it fast and still wanted more. it’s just really beautiful. i now get why this is highly raved by a lot of people. it’s a story that i think will really stick with me for a long time.
my favorite lines: “i was only a girl when you were born, it was just the two of us. i wanted to be a good mom but i failed. i only want the best for you. and i can’t even begin to describe how proud i am of you.” really punched me in the guts lol

ooohhhh i’m such a big fan of friends-to-lovers trope like i really think it deserves its flowers too so i really really enjoyed this! tho personally idk how this would work out irl if i ever was put in this kind of situation lol but reading this was kind of healing for me ? i just loved the mutual pining, the yearning, and all that jazz, those are my cup of tea yk! so this was genuinely well-written and i could feel everything (i’m probably yapping now but yeah) i love love this it tugged at my heartstrings and that’s what makes it so good!
