Summary
Penacony storyline, with the addition of everything that happened between Ratio and Aventurine which we weren't told. Canon-compliant.

Ratio raised an eyebrow at that, "Size isn't proportional with your height nor weight."
Aventurine smirked before groaning, and Ratio felt like he walked right into a trap. "I am not talking about height nor weight, doctor. I am simply saying that it's most of the time proportional to your personality."
Aventurine laughed out loud at Ratio's stare, feeling proud of the doctor's dumbfounded expression. Ratio sighed in defeat, "Well done gambler, ten points. However, if I were you, I would think twice about biting the hand thatfingersfeeds you."Bookmarked by soviiru

Summary
Playing with emotions is easy when you're used to doing so. Manipulation is a free flowing device that the Gambler has been using to conceal his schemes and advance his personal agendas for as long as he has drawn breath. It's why he was selected to work a mission involving a potentially world ending drug that has found its way onto Pier Point.
Yet when he's made to pretend to be in a relationship with the one person in his life that he's built a genuine trust towards he finds that the line between a lie and reality is much thinner than he once thought. Now he's force to grapple with what is and isn't the truth and how that changes his very definition of care.

When his information and photo is put onto a black market website with a hefty sum for his head, it is Aventurine himself who takes on the task of infiltrating the market with the intent to either raze it to the ground, or turn it into something profitable for the IPC. Truly, the only entertaining element is that it is Veritas Ratio who must follow him through a swarm of hunters waiting to sink their claws deep into his throat.
