Summary
25 years ago, Courtland Gentry Grace said goodbye to his little brother and promised he’d see him again before he was sent to Florida state prison. It takes the end of the world and a zombie apocalypse for them to meet again.
Before the end of the world, Court used to be a CIA agent. Now that zombies have taken over the world, that doesn’t really matter anymore.
Except it does, when he finds himself tasked with the most important job of his life.
To deliver a molecular biologist who’s discovered the cure to the zombie apocalypse to the last operating research facility in the country.
For Ryland Grace, it turns out, the world does end with a bang, and several bombs, and the national guard escorting him from his home in California to research a way to combat extraterrestrial microbial life that causes a prion disease which inevitably kickstarts the zombie apocalypse.
Even when the country comes to a standstill, even when everyone else begins to die, he has a job to do. Years later, he’s finally discovered the cure, but when his research facility is overrun by zombies, he finds himself with a problem. He has the cure, the only other place to manufacture it is across the country.

It takes Ryland Grace three days to figure out he’s in a different reality but in his defense, it was a school weekend and summer break was on the way.
Here's a few things that clues him in:
One, the weirdest thing that Ryland notices when he wakes up is that he smells like sugar cookies. He doesn't even know how to bake.
Two, the second weirdest thing is that when he orders take out, his DoorDasher leans in really close to his face and sniffs him. Which, okay, so he forgot to shower last night, is it such a crime? Sue him, whatever.
The last and final thing that broke the straw on the camel's back was the man who stops him outside of Grover Cleveland Middle School while he's fumbling with his bike lock and sweating over rewriting the answer key for his practice exams, to ask if he could hit up that "Sweet Omega Ass," which- what the fudge? Who do you think you are, and what even is an Omega?
OR: that one isekai fic that no one asked for where Just A Normal Guy Ryland Grace wakes up in an omegaverse reality.

When it begs him for help instead, he takes it home. The sun is dimming and San Francisco just experienced snow for the first time in decades.
Then he wakes up on a ship in space. The only companion by his side is an android named Driver. The rest of his crew is dead and he can't even remember his own name.
