Arthur takes this as well as you’d expect, but it doesn’t matter - you have the final say and The Pinkerton’s stay true to their word, not sending as much as a single man to follow Arthur to the camp.
Of course, Arthur tracks you down and rescues you from their clutches, taking down half of their men in the process, but he never could’ve imagined how much damage they could do to you within the span of three weeks.

TL:DR - You pledge your life to The Pinkerton’s upon capture to save and protect Arthur, but the damage they do within the weeks that they have you - in the weeks that Arthur scours each and every square mile of Texas for you, refusing to eat or sleep until you’re back home - changes you irreparably.
