“Of course he put a fucking swamp in his room,” Lucifer mutters to himself as he heads towards the overgrown mess.
He catches sight of it then–the unmistakable flash of red hair, bright against the curling wetland mist. Alastor lies in a heap on the sodden ground, unmoving save for the slight tremble in his shoulders. He’s not wearing his coat, and all Lucifer can see from where he stands is the back of his stark white dress shirt.
“Oh shit.”

Summary
Buffy is thrown for a loop when she discovers that Spike has taken on a secret identity as an English professor at UC Sunnydale. It's even worse when it turns out he's a hit with the students - especially among the young women in his classes. When confronted with her own conflicted feelings, she does what any sane person would do and appoints herself auditor of his 19th Century Poetry class. As Buffy uncovers the many layers to Spike's past, she has to grapple with her own insecurities about relationships, love, and what it means to have a soul.

“Don’t you see that’s what your father wants, Zag? He wants you to be distracted, wasting your time looking for a way to help me rather than trying to escape-"
“It’s not a waste of time if it means you’re safe-” Thanatos’ eyes flash gold in the dim light, determined and resolute.
"Don’t let him win, Zag. I mean it.” The words shock him into stillness; somehow Thanatos’ gentle tone hurts him more than anything else.

Summary
“You’re so beautiful,” Zagreus whispers as if it’s a confession. He’s breathless with the truth of it. He kisses Than’s jaw before finding his lips. His skin thrills beneath Than’s touch. His heart lurches. “I—Than… you were just so beautiful.”
Speaking it doesn’t ease the pain; his chest feels as if it will crack, sending the love multiplying within him spilling forth, but such sublime suffering it is.
Than gets the recognition he deserves.
