Summary
Spring break, 1990, Mike Wheeler has invited his friends to his house while his parents and Holly are away. Will has invited his new boyfriend. Which Mike is TOTALLY fine with, he just has a few... concerns. So he's enlisted the help of Max to figure out if this "Carl" guy (his actual name is Carlton) is good enough to date their friend.
Meanwhile, Will is struggling with how to integrate two diametrically opposed things: Who he used to be, and who he is now. Having his new boyfriend see his old life is bringing that to light.
And Carlton himself is starting to suspect there's more to Mike Wheeler than Will is willing to admit.

“I know, but Mom, if something happens-”
“Nothing’s going to happen.”
“Mom,” Jonathan interrupted. “Let him finish.”
Joyce nodded at her eldest son, and Will took another deep breath. “If something happens,” he continued. “I want you both to know something. I… haven’t been fully honest with you, with either of you, and I don’t.” Another breath. “I don’t want there to be any more secrets.”

Having pointed ears granted her privileges he would never have. And though she never asked for them, it was hard not to be at least a little bitter. But then she had to go off and save the city, then the world, and didn't even bother asking for his help? That is where Elliot is drawing the line. He's going to help her fight the Asteri or die trying. Likely the latter. But humans have short lifespans anyway. Might as well do something with it.

He sets his book aside and turns fully towards her, betrayal clear on his face. "A blind date, really?"
Jon makes the frankly terrible decision to go on a blind date with one Martin Blackwood. Fate ensues. AU where Jon and Georgie are still friends, Georgie likes finding dates for her friends, Martin doesn't work at the institute, and everyone is just a bit happier while canon spooky stuff goes on in the background. Takes place juuust barely pre-canon in the beginning but catches up quickly. Inspired as usual by the wonderful conversations with my friend RavenXavier/somuchbetterthanthat.
