Ed knows this. He knows he can't blame anyone. He won't do anything rash. He's not eleven and an idiot anymore.
"It's—I should've been here. I can't believe I wasn't here. I did the same fucking thing as Hohenheim—she had to"—Ed is choking on his words, now, and salt stings his eyes and blurs his vision—"she had to suffer alone."
Al's hand tightens over his. "That's not true, Brother. You came back. You were there when she—when Winry said goodbye." Al's voice is choked, too. "I'm sure she didn't feel alone when she—left."
Ed lets out a sob. It sounds ugly and broken and he misses Winry's laughter so much.
So much.
"I should have been back earlier. I should've come back as soon as I got her first fucking letter. 'Minor cold.' Such bullshit. I should've come back."
"Winry must not have wanted you to worry, either. You didn't do anything wrong, Brother."
Ed curls his fingers into a fist. "Why didn't she tell me? I could have—I might have—I know my alchemy's useless, but I know people. People from nations in the west. People from Xing. People who might've—might've been able to—to—"

He knows that Ed had reservations about having children given his issues with his own father, that it was honestly perhaps one of the reasons that he and Winry had sought a divorce in the first place, but he’s wonderful and he’s wonderful with her and Roy is so terribly honored to be included in that in any capacity, much less in the one he’s now in.
Or, the one where Roy has his first solo adventure in babysitting his boyfriend's four year old daughter while Ed's out of town for a weekend. The two of them pet dogs, stage stuffed animal coups, wear matching outfits to work, and try to determine how best to fit together as a family. Or rather, Roy tries to determine where he fits in. Sarah seems like she's already got it all figured out.

The buzzing of insects died, birds falling quiet, the shadows seeming to grow longer the longer Krel looked. Something was very wrong."
A long story set after the events of Trollhunters and 3Below, with a focus on morality, ethics, and speculative biology. I will be posting painted illustrations on my tumblr @taggerbug. Tags will be updated as necessary, but will only include the characters prominently featured.

Given a second chance at saving the world, Jim has to make a choice: he could sit back and watch the future play put like its supposed to, ignoring all the death and destruction wrought by Gunmar and Morgana-
Or he could intercept the amulet from his past self so he could live a normal life with normal human problems and stop all the bad things from happening in the future.
The choice is obvious, really...

Yet another ‘Jim is a Changeling’ AU, with a twist! Instead of being canon-compliant for a while before Jim gets caught off-guard by turning trollish, he’s a Changeling in the usual way and aware that the human James Lake Junior is his Familiar.
Changeling Jim enjoyed his cover. Human food was far better than troll food. Dr Barbara Lake was an affectionate mother, but absent often enough that his duties to the Janus Order went unnoticed. The neighbour Toby was acceptable company and kept Jim from looking suspicious for having no friends his apparent age. Once in high school, he could slip reports directly to Stricklander along with mundane homework.
And then, of course, Merlin’s Amulet just had to choose Jim as the next Trollhunter.

Lio sets the dice down, folds his hands on top of his desk. “Galo,” he says with exaggerated patience, “you’re… how old are you again?”
“Twenty-two!”
“Okay. You’re a twenty-two-year-old manchild with more enthusiasm than is good for you and one brain cell to handle it with. I’m a former eldritch being of unimaginable power and considerably more years than you.”
Galo waggles his eyebrows. “I dig experienced,” he says.
Lio’s pale brows levitate into his hairline. “Are you seriously hitting on me right now?” he asks in disbelief. “Or are you just trying to get a rise out of me? And either way, do you really think that’s a good idea?”
Galo slams his hand on Lio’s desk. “I think it’s the best goddamn idea I’ve ever had!” he says.

Lio is struggling with the aftermath of the Second World Blaze: mourning his fire, dealing with his past trauma, reintegrating into society, rebuilding his life.

Summary
It’s not that he’s scared of Lio’s reaction to a would-be confession - okay, he’s a little scared but shut up. He’s more scared of his own emotions, even through his schooling he’d never felt anything more than what one could call a drive-by crush. He’d see a pretty face, and then decide they made better friends. This thing for Lio, it felt like a flame, ironically enough, using his heart as kindling. Sometimes it felt like a dull light of a candle, flickering gently, steady. Sometimes it felt like an inferno, eating up his insides and consuming him from the chest out.
Lio is crashing on Galo's couch. Galo is pining, and obvious as hell about it. They're both healing and orbiting each other, about to collide in the best of ways.

When Aina, Galo, and Lio eventually find Dr. Prometh's lab under more than five feet of ice and talk to his computer-uploaded brain, Dr. Prometh will tell them that everything Foresight Research Industries developed and sold was his research, and that Kray Foresight just stole it after his untimely death.
Which will not be the 100% accurate truth, but when you are sending out a few hot-headed teenagers in a test model robot that has never been piloted, you don't really have the time to quibble with the details.
