The voice is familiar but Eddie's mind is hazy. Is that…is that Steve?
Eddie takes a slow breath and to his relief, this time, the air flows freely. He isn't quite awake yet, but as he struggles to shake the fog in his mind, he only finds himself slipping further under. There is only a single thought capable of forming in his mind: Who the fuck reads you stories in hell?
Eddie’s pain is dull, far away, and as Steve continues to read, he doesn’t pass out. For the first time, Eddie fades away into sleep instead.
