Summary
Typically, fireworks were supposed to bring people together. They were meant to be a celebration of whatever pointless achievement the townsfolk felt like patting themselves on the back for this time. Everything had to be perfect so they could properly applaud their useless nature without guilt.
That meant the black sheep of the flock couldn't be anywhere near the festivities. He knew that. Hell, they didn't even bother to hide it.
Jimmy knew that if he decided to coexist with the rest of the crowd, he'd ruin their good time. It's not like he wanted to be around people who hated him anyway so this worked out fine for him.
It. Was. Fine.

Spectacles weren't commonly found on the Tulpar. The days tended to blend together with the nights, and the clattering of the ship became white noise even to the newest of occupants. Every day was the same, boring old thing so when something new cropped up, everyone took notice.

Summary
Jimmy is the mixed-blooded heir scion to both the Gallows and the Beast Throne. Curly is his trusted and loyal Companion. Sometimes, they just need a break from the madness set up for them though.
This was an experimental piece to see how the two interacted/existed with the set-up I gave them for the Tarot verse I have with my fiancee. I have other ideas for one-shots and such in this universe though. Since we didn't want to mess with the og Tarot characters without knowing more of their stories and wanted to play in dismantled Houses such as the Gallows, we opted to use the world and ideas but fill it with other characters.

An American friend of mine recently asked me for some Brit-picking tips on differences in smoking language/culture between America and England to be used in her Sherlock fic. I thought I'd go ahead and write a guide, including my experiences in other countries and some writing tips for how to portray characters who smoke. Much of this comes from personal experience, and it's not intended to be encouragement to smoke. Rated Teen and Up for swearing and talk of underage smoking.
