“Not willing to talk, are you?” Mydei’s harsh voice cuts through, like that fragment had hit Phainon instead, “Perhaps it is not words of comfort that you need. Perhaps that perfectionist ego of yours is so bruised from it that you have decided to devolve into a third-rate warrior and need someone to put you in your place.”
“Fuck you.” Phainon rasps back, too tired and sore to return the barbs.
That Phainon is a perfectionist is something everyone knows. Few are aware of how even the smallest of failures bruises him.
“You – you are going to fuck yourself with my sword?”
“Obviously.” Mydei returns, like it was the most natural answer in the world, “Why must I let all the effort I put into myself go to waste just because you proved yourself unworthy of it, Deliverer?”
But only Mydei knows that punishment is what Phainon waits for in the end, and only he knows how to grant it.

Oh, maybe his smile is a little too telling, because a sweat drop visibly drips down Phainon's chin, and it's not from the hot wind that blew through the open window.
"Mydei,” he pleads. "I love you. Y-You love me, right?”
Oh, of course he does. "Mm.”
Mydei delights in the way Phainon's throat bobs as his boyfriend accepts despair.
Phainon is way too clingy for the heat, and Mydei is going to have to punish him for that.

"You claimed I don't know 20 languages," Alhaitham retorts. "And I'm telling you that you're wrong."
"Oh?" Kaveh dares him, "You think I'm wrong?"
"Yes, I'm exactly telling—ah!"
Kaveh delivers another sharp slap across his hips, Alhaitham interrupts his own words with a high-pitched moan.
"Don't count that. Is it even possible to teach you manners?"
After Alhaitham accidentally spills coffee on Kaveh's draft, they decide to handle the situation with a punishment.

Summary
Kaveh was perfectly happy to let Alhaitham pretend to be his boyfriend for five minutes if it meant getting another man to back off.
Unfortunately, Alhaitham decided to commit to the role for much longer than necessary, and Kaveh was too competitive to back down. Since neither of them had the good sense to realize when they should stop kissing, said performance eventually stretched into something else entirely.
And it was obviously all just part of the act.

On a random day Kaveh stumbles in a bookshop, immediately taken in by the seemingly indifferent deaf owner. Using his broken Sign Language he somehow manages to steal the heart of Alhaitham, a young bookshop owner who lives alone with his sister. Awkward pining and cuteness ensues. Guess it's time for Kaveh to brush up on his sign language skills.
