Dandy got a new bright idea, teaching the inexperienced toons how to survive longer runs without Main toons! Of course, he needed the help of an awesome healer for emergencies and knowing that Sprout is a Main... Dandy decided to ask Cosmo instead!
He obviously accepted, what a kind toon!
So now, Sprout is on his own for two days and two nights. He'll be fine, he can deal with it. He's a Main after all!
Mains are strong, they don't crack under pressure or the simple absence of their best friend. They don't burden toons with their woes and carry everything by themselves! And they absolutely do NOT sleep with stuffed animals.
As they should.
Or: Sprout is struggling to cope with Cosmo's absence, the fanfic.

Summary
The show had been running for a long time. The toons had been with their handlers for even longer. Some got switched around, some quit, some left for other reasons but overall, these handlers had been there for the entirety of their toons' life. They raised them. Surely, that must mean something?
For Sam McLaughlin and Shanon Mendez, it did. Shanon had made a promise to Shelly to come back, and she would keep it despite how much time has passed. Sam, unfortunately, had to make sure Sprout hadn't burned the place down in their absence (That's what they told Shanon anyways...)
For Sprout Seedly, keeping Gardenview running once Dandy had withdrawn was something else. Cosmo kept him going but even then things kept getting more difficult. Was this how things were going to be forever? How long had it been since the start of the end?

While this entire situation of infected toons attacking one another was already horrifying, Cosmo’s heat coming only worsened it. His legs wouldn’t listen to him, trembling uselessly beneath him. He swore that his suppressants were somewhere in this bag but he couldn’t remember if he had actually placed them there.
“Are you okay?” A voice asked from nearby.

Three kingdoms rule different parts of Gardenview, all spaced out far from each other. Sprout rules one of these areas and he doesn't take foolishness well around his palace. Some servants are favored; others are not. It doesn't take much for the king to change his mind. His strict way of ruling has his workers stressed, especially knowing that they will be punished from simple mistakes. Cosmo, the cook of the castle, is one of Sprouts favorite workers-- hopefully that doesn't change.
