Jeongguk made a checklist in his head of things he wanted. To fuck Jimin? Yes. To kiss him? Yep. Hold his hand? Definitely. Cuddle him on the couch and spoon him in bed? Absolutely. Fall asleep with him and wake up with him? Desperately. Be the person Jimin came to when he needed someone? Check. Take him on dates? Uh-huh. Call him his boyfriend? That too.
Jeongguk let his imagination spin out around him. He wanted to cook for Jimin and kiss him while he sat on the counter, getting so caught up in each other that the food burnt and they had to order in. He wanted to shower together and make stupid shapes with shampoo in each other's hair, and then kiss until the water went cold. He wanted to take him dancing, and then slip away to be the one getting him off in the bathroom. He wanted to tuck Jimin's always cold hands into his pockets on walks. He wanted to give him his sweatshirts to wear. He wanted to take him to his favourite restaurants and make sure he ate enough. He wanted to spend all night mapping out ways to make him feel good.
He wanted to take him with him to Sapporo and tell him he loved him under the snow.
"Fuck," said Jeongguk, with meaning.

Summary
“I didn’t ask if I’m invited.”
Usually, a snarky comment like this would poke at Jimin’s patience. However, the pale shadow of flirtation tugs at something much more fragile.
“Honestly?” Jimin slides his arms onto the table, parallel to Jeongguk’s. Wickedness dances in his expression. “No, I don’t want you there.”
Unlike before, Jeongguk doesn't freeze at the sudden proximity. Instead, he leans towards Jimin at a slow pace.
He doesn’t stop until their faces are merely inches apart.
“Okay.” His breath tickles Jimin’s lips, but neither of them back down, even though the unfamiliarity of it all makes Jimin feel at a loss.
“I’ll see you tonight then.”
It's a single, simple assignment. Write a poem and win the competition. Only Jimin isn't paired with his best friend, nor a random student from his class.
He's expected to work with Jeon Jeongguk, which makes the assignment anything but simple.

Jimin’s life is a well-oiled machine, run on a diet of high-functioning anxiety. He’s the type who rehearses his order five times before reaching the counter, packs ten pairs of socks for a four-day trip (“just in case”), and abandons new hobbies the instant he’s not a master at them in ten minutes. Also, his brain is Doctor Strange looking at 14 million different alternate realities for every little interaction with people and in all of them a slight change in a someone’s tone means they absolutely hate him and want him dead.
But he is making it. He even spent days rehearsing a five slide PowerPoint. He's got it.
Until his boss, Namjoon, drops a bomb on his existence: a new teammate invading his space who is the complete opposite of him.
(Or: The new guy messes up Jimin’s whole routine, and Hoseok’s definitely reading A/B/O webtoons in secret)
