Since then, there has always been some outlying third factor: Susie, or Dess, or the SOUL, or the distance between them.
They're inches away, hands close enough that she can feel the heat radiating off their skin, and she doesn't know how to close the space.

The color is still lovely, glittering in hues of red, much more colorful than blood but much brighter than flowers from home.
A little darker than Galatea’s lipstick and her pillow. It looks like it would melt on her tongue. Then she fills up her own glass halfway. She said that it’s common etiquette to not completely fill up a crystal glass- only some wines are made for touching the brim.
