Gerard takes Frank’s hand and gives it a gentle shake, not a firm grip but not a loser one either. Once Gerard lets go, Frank clears his throat.
“McMillin, you said? Is Mikey your brother?” Frank asks genuinely.
He watches as the other boy’s face lights up at the recognition. “Yeah! You know Mikey?” he wonders.
”Yeah I met him last period in precalc. My friend Ray introduced him and said he was cool or whatever. So you guys are new here?” Frank replies.
Gerard nods solemnly, “yeah, moved here last month. Really fucking sucked to be honest. Moving senior year is not for the weak. Especially when it’s to some preppy uniformed school. No offense.”

Summary
For 2 years, the house next door sat empty, and Gerard liked it that way. Quiet evenings, reasonable bedtimes, nobody on the other side of the shared wall in his little slice of heaven in Belleville.
Then Frank Iero moved in, some punk kid seemingly determined to make Gerard's life as difficult as possible, and that peace was destroyed. The walls are thin, Frank is loud, and now Gerard is forced to go back over there time and time again to complain, and he's starting to think the brat is just pushing him for a reaction.

“Don’t pull any of that shit, Gee,” Frank attempted to snap, but it fell short due to the waves of nausea surging through his insides. “I seriously am gonna barf.”
“I’m just showing support!” Gerard squawked in protest despite the growing heat in his stomach. “I don’t even know if I can go out there and sing anything…” he leaned forward to rest his forehead on Frank’s slumped shoulder. “It’s too hot.”

Also I am not an expert on the Vatican or medical-type things, so please accept my apologies in advance for all the wild inaccuracies I am sure you are about to encounter. If everyone could just assume this is the Magical Made-Up Vatican, you know, like the religious institution version of those tour buses that drive themselves and don't carry anyone but the band, that would be awesome.
