"You're tracking him like he's a serial killer, Verity," Creator growls, leaning over the police desk until his shadow swallows the light. Verity just smiles, a sharp, empty thing, and pins another photo to the board. It's a close-up of Spider-Man's exposed jaw from a tear in his mask, dark, mahogany skin glistening with sweat.
"No," Verity replies softly. "I'm tracking him like he's my missing piece."
On the other side of town, Mob sits on Twixxel’s workbench while Twixxel patches up a suit tear, complaining that some weird detective keeps showing up at Mob's alleyway drop-points smelling like a distressed, desperate Omega.
Mob just laughs it off.
He shouldn't.

Mob stays steady, an unmovable anchor in Verity's chaotic, obsessive world.

Summary
It was the ultimate act of betrayal.
Mob taking his own life just to get away from Verity's watchful gaze. But Verity is nothing if not persistent. He crossed boundaries of life and death, ignoring the cost, ignoring the dark corruption eating at his own soul, just to drag Mob back home.
Now, Mob is back, but he is a shadow of his former self. Unable to walk without stumbling into Verity’s waiting arms, unable to eat without Verity guiding his hands, Mob lives in a state of perpetual hypervigilance. He is terrified of the man standing over his bed, yet utterly reliant on him for survival. Verity doesn't mind the fear. In fact, he prefers it.
It keeps Mob right where he belongs.

Quick note for the comment section: Mob was a literal corpse. He is ashen because his heart stopped, not because i changed his fucking race His full, dark complexion returns as his body heals. Read the actual text before weaponizing buzzwords.
