Cannibalism was only a resort for food, it was initially done out of desperation to not die of starvation. Wanting to fill your stomach with at least something to satisfy it. Back then, it was supposed to be a one time thing. Though as the years pass by, it was clear it was.. not going to be something that happened once. It was your only food source now, or well, the only food source that was appetising and fulfilling.
