Summary
Save probably should have been afraid, watching Hope pummel people and not stop even when they begged. It should have unnerved him, the joy that danced so plainly across Hope’s features when he bent some asshole’s arm behind his back until the guy was screaming. But he wasn’t, and it didn’t. He’d never been afraid of Hope–he never felt more safe than when his lanky, sassy guard dog of a best friend was lurking just behind him, always ready with a joke or a fist.
Hope rescues Save and gets bloodied in the process. Save provides some first aid and TLC.

Summary
“How did you even get yourself in there?” Save asked, sounding unimpressed. There was a crinkle at the corner of his eyes, though, that Hope knew meant Save was amused.
Hope let his lips curl up into his most devious smirk, even though his cheek ached. He craned his neck up as close to Save as he could get, pleased at the other boy’s sharp intake of breath. “I’m… flexible,” he purred, quirking an eyebrow up at Save.
Save stared at him, his plush lips parting slightly. Hope saw his eyes dip down to look at Hope’s lips, lingering a moment. “Shut up,” he said. His eyes remained on Hope’s lips. “You’re an asshole is what you are.”
Hope gets booted. Save is there to catch him.

He heard another thud, and then the distinct metallic sound of the lid to their dumpster swinging open and bumping against the side of the dumpster. Baxia began barking, running to the back door and looking back at Nie Mingjue expectantly, wanting to be let out to investigate.
“Back down, girl,” he told her, approaching the back door and pushing her gently out of the way. “It’s probably just a raccoon. I can handle it.”
It was not a raccoon.
Nie Huaisang doesn't come home for dinner. In his absence, Nie Mingjue befriends the little monster in his dumpster.

In the years Arthur had been with Ford, they had never had a serious fight. Like, not an actual couples fight. Arthur supposed their spats over Arthur’s random acts of semi-bravery and Ford’s near constant cowardice could be called fights, but their relationship had never been endangered by those disagreements. For a pair that bickered as much as they did, they had never really faced any serious relationship problems.

And it was all over a stupid dog.
