Summary
“You’re literally such an idiot,” he says. “Fine. I’ll say it. Your hair looks nice right now. Is that okay for me to say? Is that an illegal thing for me to try to tell you?”
“Oh.” Dream’s heart is in his throat, and he has to swallow around it before he can make himself speak. “Thank you, George.”

Summary
It’s been only a couple of weeks, George tells himself. It’s okay not to rush into things. It’s okay to need time to get used to each other.
… Then why does it feel less like a lack of desire on Dream’s part and more like he is purposefully holding himself back?
Or, a story about trust, self-discovery, learning to take care of each other and learning to accept care in return.

Summary
“I keep feeling like this is temporary,” Dream confesses quietly, and the running water nearly drowns him out. “Keep feeling like you already have a ticket home.”
George looks up at him, glowing in the dim kitchen light. “Back,” he corrects softly, leaning against his unoccupied arm.
“Back,” Dream repeats, and he looks down at George. “I feel like I need to make the most of you being here. Doesn’t seem like it’s real.”
“I know,” George tells him, because that’s exactly how he’s feeling. “But we have all the time in the world. If that's what you want.”

Summary
“George?”
“Yeah?” He asks through the forkful of pasta he’d just shoved in his mouth.
“After you're done with that, will you come to bed?” Dream asks with a tilt of his head, voice small.
In all honesty, he planned to drink another cup of coffee after and then start working again. Still, the request catches him off guard, he takes his time chewing his food. Finally, his own voice has quieted in response to the delicate forbidden question, “Yeah.”

Summary
Dream sinks lower, closer, and George takes quick inventory of the freckles the sun brought out across his cheeks.
“How unfair is that,” he verbalizes. “You get freckles, and I get heatstroke.”
Closer, Dream laughs, blushes in real time. “You like them?”
There are some things George doesn't love about America — namely, the noisy beaches and murderous Florida sun — but he sure as hell loves the people he moved to America for, and luckily, they love him just as much.
