Summary
Fucking, for Emeliorate, was a release. It was purely physical, just like the basis of her attachment to the Archduke. She may be unhappy with the nature of their relationship - how duty and ill-advised heroism had brought them together, in this loveless farce of a marriage of theirs - but she certainly was not unsatisfied by their antics in the bedroom. And his office. And the bathing pool beneath the Fortress.
So they enjoyed each other’s bodies. They were very compatible with what they each wanted - what they needed, really. And somehow, over time, the other’s pleasure became more and more important to each, until it eclipsed their own desires for release entirely. It didn’t mean anything. Right?
"This is a love story." But it also one of lust and hate, of allyship and treachery, or, really, how Emeliorate and Enver learned to stop worrying and love each other.

Perhaps it was a remnant of her youth and her upbringing, but Iseult had never particularly cared for spiders. She did not like their long, spindly legs, nor the swift way they crawled along walls and floors. As a child, her father would mutter an inaudible prayer under his breath as he squished errant creepy-crawlies under an indigo thumb. She quickly learned not to ask him why he did it - there was quite a bit he did she would never understand, it seemed.
Besides, there was little she could do about the not-spider before her, let alone crush him beneath the pad of a finger.
