He never wanted to live amidst so much politicking, so he renounced his entire life of luxury and comfort to venture into that world in search of a cause to fight for. On the other side of the silver coin, a young feline lives his life, or rather survives as he can, carrying out robberies and thefts in the city to survive, throughout his life he has always had to fight to have the minimum, all he wanted was to have a better life, without imagining that help would come through the worst mysteries and secrets of that world. Even living in the same world, these two who have completely different lives, little do they know that they are destined for something much greater than themselves, than the entire kingdom and their own feelings.

Riley was never sure of what the building Playtime Co. used had going on. Even when they were interning there. But, a planned to be ‘quick visit’ in and out after receiving a letter telling them everyone was still there turns into a long game of chase with monsters still left in the building. And along with realizing the gory horrors Playtime had hiding just under the surface, they learn that they cannot die. Whether through some supernatural force or their mind being their worst enemy.
Seems there was a lot more down here than they anticipated.

However, Poppy and her allies refused to see the reality of their situation and have chosen to rebel against the one who saved them all... and they all paid heavily for this decision.
This is a multi-POV story that explores the direct aftermath of The Hour of Joy and Poppy's Rebellion against The Prototype. It is somewhat canon-compliant with some timeline changes.

Summary

The Smiling Critters are the most popular kids in their hometown of Brightside. They are inseperable, and nothing can stand in their way.
However, when a storm hits the town while the children are out exploring, things take a turn. A rift between worlds opens and swallows them, taking them to a world much more cruel than their own.
Adopted by an orphaned teenager, the eight Critters must learn to navigate this new world, discovering that this new place will not be as kind to them as their home. However, guided by their new guardian, they learn that they truly can conquer any challenge so long as they have each other.
