Summary
It took a long time for him to calm down, to stop screaming and thrashing and demanding to know just what exactly happened. Through his hysteria, Father managed to give a rushed sequence of events – bad information, an ambush, Earth benders, no one else in the mission survived and they did not think Lu Ten would either, except the boulder fell strangely, crushed his arm, but staved off enough bleeding to keep him alive until healers arrived, he was lucky. Not that Lu Ten felt lucky.
OR
Lu Ten survives, but his arm does not, leading to Zuko becoming his temporary scribe while he learns to write with his non-dominant hand; at the same time, he starts realizing family doesn't mean the same thing to everyone

Summary
I don't understand what this means. It's a mythic story--something out of legend. Out of the Shapers' War. Secret weapons. Masked players who killed a trickster god. I don't know how it fits into everyday life. I don't know how it fits into my kitchen.
“Are you in trouble?” I ask.
“What a question,” Bolaire mutters, looking to the side. “Am I in trouble? I suppose I'm not in any new sort of trouble.”
“So you're in old trouble,” I say.
“Living as a perpetual lie involves a certain amount of ongoing trouble,” he says. “That's the nature of the beast.”

Summary
Would it alarm you to know that you taught me how to have certain feelings? Would you think less of me if you knew I didn't know how, before you?
I wanted to tell you. I thought you might take it as a compliment. I thought you must be able to understand me, because you understand everyone. I hoped. I was, once or twice, even presumptuous enough to dream.
But I never stepped past the precipice of hope. And then your brother happened.

Summary
After the recent events at the Palazzo Davinos, Julien has a conversation with Occtis Tachonis.
“No one here is going to let you touch that boy, you have to realize that,” Vaelus said, leaning on the wall next to Julien.
He kept studying the night beyond the walls, on what horrors it might present to them all.
“Yourself included, I presume, Mistress Elf. But in this circumstance, my position is correct,” he said. “We need to err on the side of caution, not be so reckless. They’ll get themselves killed, enraptured by their own naive nobility.”

Summary
Announcements in Russian repeated in the background. The remaining crew member was too hazy to parse the words as quickly as they came, so instead he got Erik's attention with a light mental tap and drew him into the scene. He came willingly, and focused in on the words without needing to be directed. His translation didn't come in words—few things did, with Erik—but Charles could read the meaning off of his mind as easily as he could have a book.
Erik was watching with him as Azazel brought his boot down and they were thrown abruptly back out, the mind Charles had been anchored onto suddenly unavailable. Charles couldn't help a little horrified flinch—it wasn't the first time that he'd felt someone else's death, but it was never a kind feeling—but Erik just observed it in pragmatic silence.
Selfishly, Charles couldn't help but reach for that detachment to dull the sharp edge of shock, but, well—Erik let him, offered it freely, so he didn't feel too bad.
Or: Charles and Erik are used to always being in each other’s heads, for the good and bad. This makes things... complicated.
