Summary
Shane didn’t even know he was a carrier until his personal doctor had informed him.
Heck, he thought it was a joke at first, staring blankly at the doctor as the doctor he had been seeing for the past 3 years tentatively trying to tell him that he was pregnant at what supposed to be a normal checkup after winning Gold at the Sochi Winter Olympics.
“I-I’m sorry but can you repeat that again?”
Or
Shane, not knowing he is a carrier, is pregnant after his first time together with Ilya in November.

Summary
Ilya Rozanov has had better Thursdays.
For one, he had passed out at practice. The doctors have just told him that he's twenty-four weeks pregnant.
To make matters worse, Shane Hollander, the other person responsible for this particular disaster; has apparently decided that ignoring Ilya's calls is the solution to all his problems.
Fine. Sure. That's cool. Ilya can handle this.
Totally.
At least that's what he keeps telling himself.
Fortunately for him, the Boston Raiders have never been particularly good at minding their own business. And they are about to acquire a new tiny teammate.Or: Ilya accidentally gets pregnant, acquires an extremely overprotective hockey team, and a house full of people who refuse to leave. Shane Hollander misses the memo. Literally.

Summary
Shane first meets Ilya the winter of 07'. The omega is 16 years old, just like him, and already mated. There's a fucking dog collar around his neck.
He's the best hockey player Shane has ever met. He beats Shane, at the most important competition of his life, and then disappears into the black hole of omega abuse that is the Russian system for the next eight and a half years.
Then, the 2014 Olympics happen. Then, overnight, the world is faced with the talent that is Ilya Rozanov, and becomes conveniently so much more open to the idea of omegas in sports.
The Metros become more open to it. They become open to the idea, too, of pairing a newly-out Shane with the most socially acceptable secondary gender for him to be mated to, if he's going to insist on being gay.
It's not Shane who buys out the remainder of Rozanov's contract, but it is Shane who picks him up from the airport, and who's expected to mate him before the summer is up.
Shane agrees to go through with it, because Rozanov agrees, and he wants to help Rozanov get the fuck out of Russia. He's wanted to help the omega get out of Russia since he was 16 years old- but neither of them are the same people anymore.
