He decided to go, getting his chances to meet Will once again. What he didn't expect to find was a small, cute little girl looking way too much like him. -

Hopper's mind buzzed with a muffling noise as he peeled back wet plastic, the water that had coagulated into thick drops across the stiff sheet now pooling in the impression Hopper's hands had left. The crackle of the plastic felt obscenely loud, echoing across the silent Sattler Quarry as if warning the sheriff against continuing to fold back the concealing material. God, if Hopper had known it was Will Byers's mangled corpse that was wrapped like a goddamn package on the shore, he might've listened to it.

Summary
Will nodded quietly. Normally the idea of getting close to someone new terrified him, but there was something about that boy that pulled at him. Something beyond curiosity. For some reason, Will could see parts of himself reflected in him in ways he never really had with anyone else. So, against his better judgment, he decided to take the risk.
“By the way... do you know D&D?”
“Dungeons & Dragons?” the other boy asked “I’ve heard of it, but I don’t really know much about it.”
“Oh. Right.” Will immediately looked down, embarrassed.
“But,” he interrupted quickly, “I’d like to learn. If you wanna teach me.”
And suddenly, Will found himself thinking about how strange life could be. Because just when he thought his world would stay exactly the same forever... He might actually be making a new friend. And for once, there were no supernatural monsters involved.
