Summary
“The picture we found,” Shahara says quickly, before they can start arguing. “With you and Defoe.” Posed together as lovers at first glance but on second inspection, with Defoe rather obviously already dead and Hillinghead seemingly out of his mind. It'd sent a chill down Shahara's spine.
“They used it to convict me. For killing Defoe and being a...” Alfred trails off, his eyebrows furrowing like he's considering different words he could use and thinking better of all of them.
The corner of Karl's lip twitches up but Shahara silences him with a firm gesture of the hand.
“A homosexual?” she offers and Alfred nods, slow and solemn.
“They were wrong,” Iris says, sharp but not unkind. She should know, she's the one who shot Defoe that one time.
“Well,” Alfred says. He puts his hands on the table, squares his shoulders. “They were wrong about me killing Defoe.”

Summary
On the next day there is a blue glass bottle half-buried in the sand near their little fishing boat, a scroll of paper curling inside tantalizingly. Ed's first thought is that Stede is going to be absolutely delighted if his wildly impractical way of sending messages somehow caught on, but as he steps closer, he realizes that the handwriting on the letter is too familiar by far to be someone else's.
Dear Ed, the letter reads. Ed tilts his head to have a look through the glass.
You said you only ever received one of my letters in a bottle, and that you found it lovely. Since all the others got lost at sea, I thought I would write more of them for you.
“Stede!!” Ed yells, turning towards their ramshackle inn and holding the bottle up when Stede pops his head through the open door, eyebrows arched. “You lunatic!” Stede does not even have the decency to be embarrassed, looking down mock-coyly before he disappears again.
“This is some wildly romantic shit,” Ed mutters, getting the letter out of the bottle and unrolling it fully.

Summary
Vampires and werewolves are going missing. Both communities are on edge and vampire Prince Yusuf Al-Kaysani is tasked by the King to find out what is happening before this starts another war. In an unprecedented display of cooperation, the wolves send one of their own to work with him on the case.
It's a nice sentiment, Yusuf thinks. It would be more helpful, however, if they hadn't sent the same werewolf who almost tore him apart on the battlefield during the Blood Wars, centuries ago. The same werewolf Yusuf almost bled dry in retaliation.
The same werewolf who is now watching him with pale eyes from across the room, and smells so fucking delicious Yusuf is losing his mind.

Summary
It starts at the onsen.
Taka doesn't mean for it to happen. He doesn't mean to stumble upon Lord Sakai sitting in the pool with his well-defined arms and his sparse chest hair on display, his eyes closed and his face calm. He doesn't mean to look, either, as Sakai opens his eyes and gives him a nod, standing up to step out of the hot pool, his naked body gleaming tantalizingly in the steam, his flat belly, his strong thighs, his shapely ass.
Taka doesn't mean to stare but above all, he doesn't mean to get caught doing it.

Summary
Will ends up with his face pressed to Hasan’s thigh, and as prone to fidgeting as Hasan is he ends up with his hand in Will’s hair, strands of it getting caught on the damn rings he already put back on, but Will can’t find it in him to complain. If he thinks about the state of everything for too long it gets a little terrifying, the gentle tug on his hair, the warm body next to him, how much he craves to keep it, so he resolves not to think about it at all.
In which Will crashes a couple of couches, participates in a dark ritual known as girls’ night, and wrings blood out of the stone that is Hasan Piker. In that order.

Summary
Newcomer Roy Kent is an overhyped, so-called prodigy whose unbridled rage and mediocre talent rendered his Premier League debut a profound disappointment.
It had been a lie. Almost twenty years since and Trent still remembers. Roy Kent had indeed been full of unbridled rage, but even to Trent’s young, cocky, hyper-critical eye, there was no way he could fairly be called mediocre. Not then. Not ever.

Summary
“Then, to business,” Emhyr said, moving the papers in front of him to the side of his desk with a heavy thwack, and leaning back in his chair. “A ghost has been sighted in the east wing of this palace. When approached, it apparently summons wraiths to defend itself. The court’s official augurers have determined this is an ill omen, and the court may not withdraw to winter in Nilfgaard proper until the spirit has been cleansed. I require a witcher to rid us of this spectre.”
“Huh,” Geralt said. He hadn’t known what he was expecting, but this was proper witcher’s work. “What kind of ghost?”
