"You stay at my place for a few days over break. Catch is, you have to do anything I tell you to do. Whatever you decide, I'm leaving tomorrow morning with or without you, so ya better figure it out, mousey."

The situation surrounding the human who has come to live in “Ramshackle Dorm” is so exceptional, so extraordinary, someone could write a conspiracy that Prefect Yuu had been brought to Night Raven College for the explicit purpose of meeting Malleus Draconia. To give him someone who does not know him and will treat him like a normal student. His own special friend.
And now, in her time of need, Malleus does… nothing. Nothing but watch, trapped between wanting to respect her ability to take care of her own problems and desiring to be relied on. Also, between wanting to be a “good friend” and wanting to dumpster all the other students who look at her.
Lilia thinks all of this is pretty funny, but it would be unconstructive to let that boy keep living like this.

The glass of Suletta’s helmet was clouded, the oxygen no longer circulating as it should, and she had not responded no matter how Miorine screamed and shook her.
Miorine’s heart had not broken because it could not beat. Not until Suletta whimpered, twitched, mumbled through parted lips, and now all Miorine hears is the drumming of her own pulse in her ears.

Or an orca!”
Azul ends the thought experiment with a sharp tap of his walking stick on the ground, leaving no room for further discussions, “Enough of that."

Much, much later though, as the three mermen cool down after closing up the Mostro Lounge for the day, Azul speaks up, unprompted, and to no one in particular.
“She’d be a lionfish.”
