Summary:
Peter did not have the heart to kill Phil and peacefully moved on with his studies out of state, sending letters and paper flowers to look out for his mother. Because what kind of doctor would he be if he harmed someone? What kind of person would he be if he killed?
Now a graduated surgeon, he promises to come back home and be the balance in everyone's lives. But with Phil having taken up a new 'hobby', things promise to be anything but balanced.
Notes: Heed the tags. Peter is now older, over 18, and therefore his relationship to Phil is not underage anymore. Also fun fact: the working title of this fic was 'PBR-Professional Bull Rider'.

Growing up as an outsider in tiny Malta, Corto yearns for adventure and belonging. But just before he is set to join the British navy and leave the tiny island for good, a plague strikes his host country. His moral compass and relationships are put to the test as he discovers that moving on from his confined upbringing is harder than he thinks.
I made up my own origin story for Corto Maltese mixed in with bits of the canon backstory. Please don’t kill me for the origin story not being completely canon. I mean no offense to Hugo Pratt and I have the highest respect for him. Also Malta is a real country. Source: I am Maltese
There are a few minor pairings of Corto Maltese with OCs but they're not the main focus of the plot. Also he's bi in all universes.
In my opinion this fic would be a PG-13 but I rated it mature just to be safe from AO3 mods.

Georgie has got himself a girl for the night, and least to say Phil is less than pleased. 'It's not fair' he thinks. He did not choose to be cursed with inverted, perverted and impossible desires. He could sulk and get out his emotions in his usual rawhide ways, but Phil has stewed in his own self-made prison for far too long. If Georgie is going to break society convention with a suicide-widow, then why shouldn't he take some liberties tonight?
This is a canon-divergence from when George brings Rose over to the Burbank house for the first time. Phil is quite OOC here depending how you look at it and I've taken some liberties with him and Peter, but I was primarily inspired by the film. Also inspired by the question of what's Phil like when he's drunk? Let's just pretend that Peter here is of legal age, but I've added the warning just in case. Also a happy ending yay!
