There are very few things in the multiverse that can truly scare Bill Cipher. He’s been around far longer than nearly all the inhabitants of it, and he’s so powerful the mere concept of him as a being would make the more inferior one’s brains implode. So, there’s not much that can put the fear of Axolotl in him.
Today, however, he found one of the exceptions.
Because today, Stanford Filbrick Pines had a brain aneurism rupture.
And Bill isn’t entirely certain he’s ever going to wake up again.
And that fucking terrifies Bill.

Bilbo inspects the Arkenstone, and finds it quite pretty. Because it is not something glorious to behold, and he feels no kingly power exuding from it. The Heart of the Mountain and all he feels is a slight urge to wave it in Lobelia’s face and stick his tongue out at her because she would never have such a pretty rock.
Until, that is, he is sat watching with a disbelieving fascination, as a single, large crack suddenly runs down the side of the gem.
Oh, dear. Thorin is not going to be pleased.
